[In a previously empty room on the fourth floor of Deacon Hall, a new resident opens his eyes to Prospero for the first time, looking around in confusion. This isn't his room at home, and it sure as hell isn't the Inaba police station, either. Were the past couple of weeks just some kind of crazy dream?

Grumbling to himself, Mitsuo pushes himself up off the bed and starts walking around the room to get a good look at his surroundings. A quick look out the window confirms that this definitely isn't Inaba at all. By the time he finds the standard issue communication device everyone gets, he's already pretty pissed.]

[Hey there, Prospero. You are all treated to the sight of this weird-looking mofo on your video screens, looking more than a little irritated as he launches straight into complaining about his new situation.]

All right. If this is a joke, it isn't a very funny one! Where the hell is this place? And who the hell are you people? Answer me!

((OOC: Anyone who wants me to avoid Persona 4 plot spoilers in Mitsuo's tags, just let me know. I know it's been out for a little while at this point, but it is a mystery game, after all.))

Wow, that's a little demanding, isn't it? You're in Prospero, a city in America.

Just woken up and the first thing you do is start demanding answers? Either you're brave, or you have no sense of self-preservation.

[Jin is leaning towards the latter.]

You're in Prospero, a city in America. Specifically, I think you're in a hotel in Prospero, a city in America.

[Eh. What the hell.]

Welcome to America.

[He doesn't sound too thrilled.]

Impossible? Really. Try asking someone else.

Oh, it's probably magic. I came here from different nowhere, Japan, after I was dead, so your problem isn't so bad in comparison.

[There's a soft static at the moment, otherwise silence.

And then? There's a scraping noise, like steel against steel. Just harsh and slow and screeching.]

[Oh hey listen. It's a voice.]

Broken.

Broken is the way things go around here.

Good as anywhere else.

[That scraping sound again, this time as he's talking.]

There is no need to yell, poor soul.

You are stuck in a city called "Prospero".

You cannot leave.

And that was rude. Very rude.

It would've been nicer if you had just asked "could you please stop that", but no. No we were having a nice conversation and then you had to ruin it by being rude.

Learn some goddamn manners.

Well maybe I'm doing something important. Did you ever think of that? Maybe I'm trying to work and talk at the same time.
