[Date hasn't spoken to much of anyone over the network since arriving. It was a combination of not taking the time to learn the system and not particularly caring. Still, he checks every message that he receives just in case something interesting happens to come past. At first, viewing the video, he considers making a joke about asking how well paid he might be for helping out, but money isn't a concern of his any longer. There's nothing he needs.
For now, Date isn't sure what his goal is while being held in this place, so there's no real purpose behind his actions. He calls the number out of morbid curiosity, settled against the wall in the hotel lobby.
Taking the time to figure out the voice, video, or texting features seems like a waste. He's more of the straightforward type, after all.]
