[Being a parent to Jr had been one thing. That was a combination of play acting for the benefit of the public, and a chance for him to support his poor older brother in at time of emotional upset.

Being an actual parent to someone who really was younger then him was a whole different mental ball game, especially because his own father was such a bad example of how to be one. So, Gaignun resolved to do everything opposite to Dmitri Yuriev.

So I got out of work early today...I was wondering if you three would like to join me in getting ice cream or something like that. Your choice.

We're getting close to that time of the month again, but we didn't hear that voice this time. Do you think we're lucky enough for it to pass us by for yet another month?

[And he'll wait for her down in the lobby.]

[It's not too much longer, maybe a few minutes, before she comes running through the door, out of breath. When she spots Gaignun and approaches him, she moves to hug him then stops herself and just... stares. She doesn't exactly know how to behave with a parent figure.]

[He smiles a bit at her and wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her into a hug to say it's ok.]

There you are, hello Orihime.

[:D! She nods again, a little less awkwardly. She's getting used to it... sort of!]

So how was your day? You didn't get into any trouble did you? [He's teasing. He's used to boys. How does daughter?]

Ah, it was an accident! [And cue the panic. How did he know she accidentally set a stove on fire at school?!]

I..er...what? What did you do? [Really, how do daughters work?]

I was making cookies in class, and I left the mitt on the tray when I put it in the oven, and then it caught on fire, and the whole oven caught on fire, and everyone had to go outside, and I have to be in a drawing class instead...

[...Wow. That sounds like Jr level of spectacular FUBAR.

He's silent for a moment, and then bursts out laughing.]

You really take after my side of the family don't you.

Ah... It's okay..?

Well, that was an accident, it could have happened to anyone. [He pats her gently on the head.]

Oh umm... How was your day? Is working fun?

[May as well start steering her to the door.]

It was fine. Working in an office is really quite boring.

I'm starting to. It's a little odd working in a place like that, but the pay is alright and the paper work isn't too bad.

There's a place down the street that I hear is quite excellent, some of the people I work with highly recommend it.
