6th Ritual of Detestation: Secular holidays

[ Garviel is sitting on a bench by the Hotel, clearly not in a Christmassy mood. He's scowling at the world, and if you approach, scowling at you. Dare you talk to the tremendous fellow? ]

[Issei braves it!]

Good afternoon.

[Saori takes the challenge. ]

Mr. Loken? Is there something wrong?

[identity profile] grapplings.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
[ Abel sits down next to Garviel, freshly showered, sporting a new change of clothes, and rubbing his wrists. ] Are you always this cheery?

[identity profile] grapplings.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh. That's a debate Abel likes to avoid, but...he's fucked now. ] You're aware some people celebrating the holidays don't believe in Jesus, right?

[identity profile] needsteaplz.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
[She tilts her head.]

Oh? May I ask why?

[identity profile] grapplings.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Because people like celebrating. [ Abel stretches his legs. ] Who wouldn't take an excuse to eat, drink and get presents?

That does make sense...

Well...if it helps, not everyone celebrates Christmas for its religious purposes. In my home country, it's treated more like a commercial holiday because of influences from other countries. It's considered to be a time to spend with that special person.

Even though I'm not part of the religion that celebrates it, I find it to be a time to spread some cheer during the gloomier winter weather. Not to mention it's a time to bond with people and promote the goodness and hope in humanity.

I don't know who that is but... [ Abel leans back, resting his head behind his hands. ] ...when you don't know whether you're going to be dead or alive the next day, you stop caring why you're celebrating, and you just do.

Sounds boring. No food? Wine's good and all, but a good wine is nothing without a good dish.

[Well, there's only one thing to be done about someone that large and scowling. You offer him a cookie. Thankfully Gaignun has a few from that lovely receptionist lady in the hotel.]

Cold day to be camped outside.

[Pfft, Sakurako doesn't afraid of anything. She comes walking up to Garviel holding what's left of the bucket of KFC she and John were sharing earlier.]

Hi Garvi! What's wrong? Are you hungry? I've got some chicken left if you want some!

[Holding out a drumstick.]

[identity profile] grapplings.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Just beef? [ Abel groans. ] You haven't lived until you've tried a nice salmon with a white wine.

[identity profile] namedforcat.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
You're quite welcome. Have the staff been bothering you?

[identity profile] needsteaplz.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't any of us are going to take the religious side too seriously. It's just mostly to cheer us up and just to have fun. I believe there is a Christmas party and we also have New Year's eve as well.

[She blushes and laughs nervously.]

Uh, well, I was going to spend the rest of day and night with him. There's nothing wrong with giving someone a little 'me' time after all.

...Afternoon.

[Not approaching. He just happens to rather like smoking here.]
