[Kiritsugu's not a great cook. Being service manager of a restaurant does bring in enough money to eat out, and when he feels like he doesn't have a lot to think about (which is not often, considering the people in this own), he simply makes some instant food. However, circumstances dictate that he needs to at least try to improve. After all, he's living with someone now.]
[It's not going well. Though the kitchen of his new apartment is decent, kitchens are not enough to change one's Origin. Something that requires such attention to subtlety and care will inevitably be ruined by the manifestation of the concept of severing and binding. Kiritsugu was under the impression this only affected his ability with mechanics, but apparently the core concept is the same. If you visualize a completed objective and try to work towards it, something along the way will inevitably break, ruining all the further steps to come. Put simply? Kiritsugu is Murphy's Law manifest.]
[Whatever was left of the meal cannot longer be called such. With barely a hint of resignation in his face, Kiritsugu sits on a chair to get his thoughts in order.]
[Things had taken a turn for the worse. Having seen Kotomine and Kayneth, he's convinced that he can no longer remain in this town. There are far too many remnants of his past inhabiting it. Moving seemed like a good idea, but Kiritsugu still clings to the hope of returning to his world to rescue his daughter, and leaving Shirou in such a dangerous place is absolutely unacceptable, even with Saber around.]
[Thus, the only solution is to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. Being a fan of simple solutions, Kiritsugu has already crafted several plans. Unfortunately, they all bear the stain of a personality he had once tried to leave behind. To carry out his methods would alienate Shirou once again and, if found out, could drive the whole town against him. Yes, there were bigger things to worry about, but after seeing the number of Heroic Spirits and what he considers to be naive individuals in this town, he doesn't hold Prospero's ability to prioritize in high regard. That would give his former enemies a socially acceptable chance to take revenge, as well.]
[Yet, his own priorities haven't changed. If he can keep Shirou safe, then things should be fine. Separate from his purchases in weapon shops, Kiritsugu has obtained resources from other places. Natalia taught him quite a few things, and she didn't skimp on how to deal with the black market. If mindlessly continuing to kill Shadows wouldn't work, then...]
