Would anyone like me to knit them a scarf? Or gloves? It's cold outside, and I worry.

When I last could drink anything without being sick... I think it was 1908? Coffee wasn't as popular back then.

[She's able to be honest about this with her sister, of course.]

Oh dear. This won't hurt, you will it? [Under normal circumstances this would cause her a start, but what is weirdness between family? She thinks a ten year old's her mother for land's sake.]

I'm sure it won't. I've had a number of old treats since getting here, something new won't be any worse.

Well, I should hope not. Won't do getting you sick.

...Although, I don't know what to order.

How about a little coffee, decaf if you're worried it will hurt you, and some coffee cake?

That sounds lovely. I'll order that.

Very good. [She calls over a waitress and orders the same thing, but with real coffee instead.]

A few times a week. I find it a nice place to grade papers.

That I can see. I should stop by more often and do my knitting here.

It would be a nice place for it. The walk here would be refreshing, I'm sure.

It's a bit of a strain on my hips...
