second adversity | video.

[How goes it, Prospero?

If any of you are awake around this time, you can make out from the feed large stacks of books and papers scattered around. It looks like whoever owns this phone is in the library, but there's no one sitting in the chair in from of the camera. Just then, another pile of books land on the desk, and they shake the phone. The chair moves and it appears to be Nathan.

A pencil behind his ear, he reaches behind him and pulls out a small notebook it appears. He takes a seat and pulls over a few books, writing something in the journal.] Let's see...

If these tales are right... [The next part is more to himself, but some of the words can be picked out from his speech. 'Location, adventure, treasure.' Looking up in the middle of whatever it is he's doing, he notices the phone, raises a brow at it.]

Are you-- aww, come on!

[He reaches over to turn off the feed, shaking his head.]

Old like... Someone left something in there but never came back for it. Ancient, abandoned, anything like that.

[A glance back to the map he's draw and he offers it to her.] Do you recognize this area?

[She nodded, squinting slightly and holding the map closer to her face.]

Part of the business district, kinda far away from where the big ol' dungeon shows up during the night. Lots and lots of abandoned buildings in here -- though, sad to say, that's not abnormal for the business district in the least.

[Nodding, he pulls aside a piece of paper, writing down some of the information that she tells him. It's just some small notes, reminders.]

So... guess that means I have a lot of ground to cover there.

If you plan to look over all of 'em, yeah. If you're looking for the oldest, or longest-abandoned...

[The map's placed flat on the table, and she begins pointing a few locations out. One of the benefits of... well, being her, was a fairly potent memory. She herself wouldn't call it "photographic", but there were times it seemed to border on such.]

[And he'll follow along, circling or simply marking the locations she calls out. A breath in and he leans back, looking at it once they just about finish.]

This'll really help a lot, thanks. [He holds his hand out towards her.] I'm Nate. Nathan Drake.

Hey, M'just glad to be of help. [Hand status: shaken. Some gestures are universal, even for a melting pot like Prospero.] Devola. No surname.

[Pulling back with a nod, he smiles.] A pleasure, then.

If this actually turns out to have something at the end, I'm guessing you'd want to know?

[She grins impishly.] For curiosity's sakes, I assure you. I kinda hope you do find something, though -- means there's more here than just shadows and weird time stuff.

Yeah, that makes sense. If I do find something, I'll come back here and show you. If I don't, I'll just have a story for you.

That does sound pretty good. Just gimmie a heads up before you come back: I'll bring warm drinks for show-and/or-tell.

I'll start cleaning up here, since it's getting near closing time. It was nice to meet you, Devola.
