So, anyone need help with anything? I've been free as of late-- the jobs I took on finished and the amount of free time is.. more than I think I need. [He flashes a smile then glances off-screen. At that moment his eyes widen and he grimaces, ducking. Just in time to dodge something being chucked at his head apparently; a vase, a shoe? Whatever it is, it shatters as it lands and Nate comes back into view.]

This is a pretty great language, the more I look at it, y'know. What's the history behind it?

This is the old language that was spoken in the years when the goddess walked the earth. It's used still in magic tomes and spoken by the herons, but other than that, it's largely evolved into the modern tongue used throughout the continent.

So it's evolved into something that everyone can use - is it the same in the tomes and for the herons, or do they keep to the old?

[He really doesn't understand much of the magic part, but it's definitely interesting. It might be why he's so keen on listening.]

Heron laguz are one of the longer-lived species... their use of it has changed very little.

Over one thousand years.

What about the other races, or is it all the same?

The herons are the second-longest lived species. The dragon laguz can live to over two thousand years. The other bird laguz come slightly after the herons, then the beast laguz, and then the beorc - more commonly referred to as humans.

[Nodding as she explains, he tilts his head thoughtfully.]

Makes sense that it'd be like that.. The place you come from sounds more than interesting. Think I'd ever be able to visit?
