[An extremely annoyed girl is looking at the camera.]

Okay, what am I doing here, and where did this thing come from? Did I get abducted by aliens this time?

[A meowing noise comes from off-screen, and she bends down, picking up a cat in her other arm.]

Depends how you define alien, I guess! And this thing is a phone.

Ohh, they brought you with your cat too. That was nice of them.

And what kind of "aliens" are we talking about here?

Things that aren't normal humans and don't come from the same place as us sounds like it'd fit. They give newcomers phones for some reason, I guess to make things convenient.

[She smiles slightly.]

Yeah, I guess-they? Who is this "they"?

Okay, I'll admit it does.

So where can I find those creatures that have abducted us? [She's definitely going to give them a piece of her mind!]

A year? [Eyes boggling at the implications] How do they expect people to survive that long when they don't even get to bring anything in?

Ah, I wish I could pass on the document we are preparing but it's not ready yet. For the time being I will try to illustrate the situation to you to the best of my ability. You are in a town called Prospero, situated on the United States of America; this is an island though. The current year is 2012.

If you were in possession of any above human ability of sorts you might notice they are missing now, but in return we have won...power, to put it in a way.

I'd say "count me in," but I doubt that's smart, considering how we don't even know what we're facing.

They probably are just hiding and using monsters because they are too weak to fight themselves.

Monsters? No one mentioned anything about monsters.

You could get a job. Most people do and it helps with surviving.

For some, it has. But not here, I'm afraid.

It's a little complicated, but we are no capable of bringing forth creatures called Persona, which apparently reside inside of us. I think somebody with more experience fighting would be better suited to explain this to you though.

The...best part. [As someone who had her planet invaded by aliens, she's not quite receptive to that idea.]

Yeah, it makes things here a lot less boring. Though it's not really as fun when they mess with our heads every month.

Let me get this straight. This place has monsters that appear frequently. They are capable of messing with our minds. They are most likely extremely dangerous. And you still think this is all "fun"?

A job. [Well, she has provided for herself before.]

So they're willing to hire teenagers, who have often proven themselves to be not the best at judgment?

Oh no, they are really dangerous. You only stay dead for a week, so it's not that bad if they do get you. That way you pound them into the ground without actually worrying about dieing!

Sadly, I am not that familiar with this place myself. The ones I have talked to that seem to know more are my sister Devola, Arthur, Atsuro, among others.

I haven't died yet, though a few friends of mine have. I've been here about 4 months now.
