It hurts. Is it supposed to?

Everything fades. Even life does. But people keep living.

I know. I don't understand it. The people I ask all seem to think it's still worth it.

People only have their lives. Knowing that they don't have anything permanent, they make the most of what they have.

Existence has a point to them, even if it isn't permanent.

Right. And knowing you has a point to me.

Why?

Because it makes me happy and it teaches me things like how I could have been, I'm really glad I know you.

How you could have been? You're older than I am. *She pauses.* Probably.

I don't know either. But you remind me of myself a lot.

That makes sense.

It does. More than a lot of human things do.
