Unit 6 - Where in the Hotel gains access to a pool table. No need for a bar.

[Early one evening, if one happens to walk through the hotel lobby, they may notice something that hadn't been there when they had left through those doors.

A pool table.

Thanks to that odd offer of the powers that be to give them back something from home, Gaignun (somewhat jokingly) asked for the pool table from his office, and got it much to his surprise. It's a well loved pool table, well made with a few nicks and scratches in the wood work that speaks to the fact that it actually got used.

So there it sits, in the side of the hotel lobby, fully decked out with a sign posted saying "Free to play, just take good care of it."

It's owner, a face familiar to mosmt is right now just happily noodling around on it, making random shots. Feel free to join him, he's always up for a game.]

[[ooc: So the hotel now has a pool table, which is free for anyone to use. It's now a fixture there until he finds somewhere else to put it so feel free to appropriate it for other threads and what not.]]

Ah, I see. Very simple.

[Nope, totally not cocky, nope.]
monohoshizao: (Assassin's sign of approval)

[HAH Sure you aren't ready to lose, Gaignun? Because you will, by Assassin nonetheless. He's an insta-pro whenever he already learn things.

So, how does the game rules works, by the way?]

Exactly. There's not too much I had in my world that I can't really get here, in any case.

[He lines up another shot.]

Out of curiosity, what's the ate when you're from?
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth is looking at a stack of papers or a notepad. (Scribble scribble)

April 9th

[Now that the paperwork from the native trial of Ryuunosuke is dying down and the serial killer is politely staying behind bars for the moment, Edgeworth needs a break from this particularly stressful case. It may not be truly over yet, but the circumstances surrounding it have already gotten under his skin at least once -- he can't allow himself to break down again.

As such, Edgeworth's simply practicing knocking the cue ball around an otherwise empty table. It's been a very long time since he's played, after all, and even then it wasn't very much. Not to mention how he always got nitpicked about his ability to form a proper bridge.]
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth tilts his head back slightly as he gives you a near-smile. (As much smile as he usually gives)

[Edgeworth looks up and over at the voice.]

Ah, Mr. Kukai. I typically don't, although I was introduced to it in my adolescence and have my reasons for choosing to pursue it further here.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth is completely perplexed. (Confused)

[personal profile] truthsnomiracle 2012-04-14 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You had this on a ship of some sort? Is it designed to stay level regardless of the motion of the floor in some way?
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth holds his finger to his temple with a confident near-smile. (This is my favorite part)

[personal profile] truthsnomiracle 2012-04-14 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, some things he's heard from Allen do suggest that the two of them come from someplace futuristic, so it's not that difficult to piece together or surprising once he does.]

Ah, I believe I understand. My own world is mere years in the future relative to this one, so that sort of ship wasn't the first to cross my mind.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth shrugs with a smug smile on his face, then shakes his head. (Smug shrug)

You aren't alone in that. I've encountered the same tendency in Mr. Ridgeley.

Not at all. I'm merely devoting extra time to relaxation, given recent events.
truthsnomiracle: (An unfortunate truth)

[personal profile] truthsnomiracle 2012-04-14 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Two difficult things, in fact -- one of which has been made far more so by Wright's disappearance.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth stares into the storm with a brooding, grim expression. (Brooding)

[Edgeworth has to stop and think about this for a second, for the opposite reason from his usual...]

...I suppose "friend" will have to do for the interpersonal aspects. More importantly, however, he is a colleague of mine -- a defense attorney with few peers, and the man I would most wish to stand across from in court.
truthsnomiracle: (Worried)

Particularly as the role he would have filled is arguably the most difficult job of all. Given that a significant number of kidnappees fail to grasp the importance of justice that's distinguishable from vengeance, that makes it all the more difficult to find someone both willing and able to defend those accused of crimes.
