Second Infiltration - Operation Dark Hour

[You will find our hero, Solid Snake, having just committed a rather unheroic act. What he's holding in his grip, a Heckler & Koch Mark 23 SOCOM, was just recently stolen from the weapon shop. Along with two backup magazines that he was just going to 'look at.' Unfortunately, he couldn't snag a silencer.

You'll see him firing two rounds to check the accuracy of the weapon, along with taking a few moments to inspect it. Feel free to interrupt him, chastise him for the thievery, or just come across him for whatever reason you can think up!]

[Following what Miles Edgeworth had said, Snake is wandering the streets with the previously mentioned SOCOM at his hip. The minute his eyes come across one of the numerous Shadows, his heart skips a beat. It wasn't anything he had seen before, and his SOCOM was in his hands as quick as he could get it. He wasted no time in firing a round toward the beast...

Except... it didn't do anything.

Just what Snake needed. Something that was impervious to bullets. Ducking behind a nearby building, Snake is going to try and stay out of the Shadow's current line of sight. Someone might want to come by and assist Snake, since he has no knowledge whatsoever of his Persona. He'll only hold out as long as three magazines will last, so hurry!]

[Perhaps hearing a psychotic troll cackling to herself as she cut through the Shadows with her new sword and occasionally casting Marin Karin and Agi would not be the best thing for Snake to hear.]

[Not to mention the occasional glimpse of Anansi slamming all eight legs around her as she cast]

[Well too bad, Snake. Vriska Serket is here to make things more confusing as she is totally enjoying the hour of "fight and actually look like a troll"]

[Snake is used to watching his fair share of swordplay from Grey Fox, but the spells that she's casting and the psychotic glee she's taking out of it put him on edge.

So, Vriska, his SOCOM is going to make sure to target you as much as the Shadows. Difference being? He's not firing at you. Yet.]

Oh come oooooooon, you wussy little Shadows! Is the great Vriska Serket too much for your tiny little minds?! [She laughed again, slashing fairly inexpertly at the Shadows, her blue lips curled in a grin]

I can smell yoooooooou. Just going to hide there like a scaredy cluckbeast?

[Well, no use in continuing to stay behind cover now that he's been spotted. He'll be getting closer to Vriska to get a better look, as well as keeping his SOCOM's aim on her.]

[Blink. Blink blink] Oh hey, that worked this time. [Vriska frowned, looking carefully at him before getting smacked by a Shadow. Hard]

[BANG! BANG!]

...Damn!

[Snake was firing at the Shadow this time but, much to his irritation, the bullets didn't do much except to possibly distract the Shadow.]

[Vriska slammed her hand down, using the motion to focus her thoughts to summoning Anansi for a good Agi. It was harder now, almost like-]

Ow. Ow ow ow ow. Fuck.

[Then she started laughing, her cerulean eyes bright] Summon your Persona, stupid! I know you got one, since you're awake right now!

But they're my kill.

[Ahh, the words of the clueless. Even though the bullets seem to be useless, Snake isn't lowering his gun.]

[She slowly stood back up, wobbling as blue blood dripped down her face] Always that eye. Ever since Terezi blew it out, the dumb Shadows always target that eye! [Pout]

And come oooooooon. I know you know. [Fanged grin] I mean, you look just like that stupid named guy. And I think he got his already. [She turned suddenly, claws gripping for the Shadow] Aw, how cute! But you're not getting the drop on the great Vriska Serket!

*There is a tan skinned angel flying down the middle of the street, taking out the non-physical resistant Shadows with a spear and shedding feathers everywhere. Behind him, with a light crossbow, is a more familiar face.

When Allen spots the Shadow that's giving Snake trouble, he grimaces. And then he notices the other man and rushes within easy earshot.*

Oh jeeze...let me guess, nothing you have can hurt it?

[The SOCOM in Snake's hands shook a bit, hands squeezing onto it tighter.]

I don't know what you're trying to imply. Whether or not Liquid knows doesn't mean I will or won't know too!

[Stupid named? Resembles him? Yup, that's definitely Liquid in Snake's mind.]

You caught on, huh?

[Snake's pretty dang trustworthy of Allen, at least for the time being, so his tone is a bit more calm.]

Oh, you do know him! [Grin] Well, if you're going to be stupid and walk around during the Dark Hour without your Persona, you deserve whatever you get. Me, I'm going to get all my levels back. [Wobbling still, she turned to attack the Shadows around her]

Wasn't exactly my decision.

[Bang! Once again, Snake is firing for the distraction purpose. If he can't outright hurt it he can at least try to support Vriska.]

Why are you using that stupid thing anyway? [She frowned at him as she turned, tossing a Shadow away from her] Makes soooooooo much noise]

It's not that hard. I recognize that kind of Shadow. Physical attacks won't hurt it.

*He glances around, looking for clear paths away from the Shadow.*

Hadraniel doesn't have any elemental attacks, either, so we'd be best off getting out of here.

Wasn't able to nab myself a silencer.

[But she does have a point, so he'll stop firing for now.]

[Which was enough time for a Shadow to slam into her and send her flying towards him. Vriska just wasn't having a good Dark Hour]

[A nod toward Allen before he places his SOCOM into it's holster and prepares to retreat.]

[There is now a dazed grey lump of hair, horns, and claws lying near you, Snake. And Shadows pressing in. What do?]

*He fires off a bolt from his crossbow, pegging a Shadow with perfect accuracy before quickly reloading. Meanwhile, Hadraniel moves to the opposite direction, covering their rear. It's pretty obvious that Allen's been in situations where an attack could come from any direction before.*

Come on, this way. All of the ones I can see here can be hurt by normal weapons.

[If there ever was a better time, now would be it. The will to protect someone flows through Snake, and flashbacks of Grey Fox hit him. He wasn't going to allow someone else to die in front of him... not while he was able to do something about it. Liquid's words also rang inside of his mind...

'You can't protect anyone! Not even yourself!'

Suddenly, a voice chimed up in his head. Something burned inside of his chest, and his SOCOM was lowered for only a brief moment. Suddenly, without realizing it, a hushed name escaped from the throat of the ex-FOXHOUND operative.]

Rasputin...

[At that, the Persona appeared floating above him and when it went to take care of the Shadow through a use of Mudo, Snake initially rose the SOCOM to it. Flashbacks made him think of Vamp and already he was wary... He had run into Liquid so why couldn't he run into Vamp?

But the Persona had defended him. Defended Vriska too. As quick as he could Snake put his SOCOM back into it's holster and went to check on Vriska's vital state with two fingers to her neck. Rasputin, with a nod between both him and Snake, went to take care of a few of the Shadows.]

Hey, you alright?

[... And there went his SOCOM right back out of it's holster. A light groan of irritation escaped him but he still moved slightly beside, slightly behind Allen. One of the Shadows he spoke of was fired at, two rounds from the handgun assaulting it.]

[Issei is also wandering the streets tonight. When he spots the annoying Shadow - impervious to physical damage, had given him some trouble when he was just starting out - and the unfortunate bystander, he wastes no time.]

Jikokuten!

[The fierce warrior appears and sends a massive blast of ice at the opponent, finishing it instantly.

...Maybe Bufula from a high-level Persona was excessive for a random shadow on the streets.
