[So now there's a very confused and frightened young woman sitting in an alley and cradling...her hair. Her very very long hair that covers most of the ground. and...is she singing? Yes, yes she is, but it's very fast and frantic and probably hard to make out.]

[She seems to be yelling at her hair and getting a little hysterical...]

It's all here, none of it was cut off, and Eugene didn't have anything to cut it with anyway, and he knew it wouldn't work if he did, so he didn't, right?

[She drops the hair in her lap in favor of covering her face.]

Mother was right, I never should've left...I'm so lost...

...Mother... Mother! Mother, are you there? Eugene! Pascal!

I don't know. I was sleeping in the forest, and then I woke up here.

Alice was sleeping before, too. I wish I could go back--Alice doesn't like this place.

I'm Rapunzel. I don't really like this place, either. It's so different from home.

What was your home like, lady?

[She knows the lady's name, now, but old habits are hard to break. She doesn't feel quite so lost anymore now that she has this nice person to talk to.]

Umm...A tower. In the middle of a forest.

...That doesn't sound very fun. Sounds kinda lonely to Alice.

Well, my mother spent a lot of time with me, and I had my friend Pascal, so I wasn't too lonely.

Ah, so there were lots of friends around for lady! Alice knows what it's like to be alone...so Alice is glad you weren't lonely.

Were you lonely back home?

[She shakes her head.]

Before Alice came along, Alice was all alone. But when Alice found Alice, I wasn't lonely anymore. Alice got to play and have bunches of fun!

Well...I'm glad you got to have fun. Maybe you can have fun here, too.
