29: The Work in Progress [Video]

[The video feed starts with Saori standing outside a building with several rose bushes surrounding it.]

Hi guys. I'm here to announce that my tea house will be officially open one week from today. Truth to be told, I still need more workers if people are interested and I'd rather hire as many people from this network as I can. It's mostly wait and some minor kitchen help.

Also, I discovered another use for this place.

[She goes inside and brings the phone with her, placing it on a table but disappears off screen. There's a click! and a staircase descends and unfolds from the ceiling. Saori comes back to pick up the phone and ascends the stairs. The attic is pretty spacious considering how deviously small the building was. ]

I came across this when I bought this place. I was thinking, since this place is pretty equal distanced between the hotel and Caliban. Oh, for all the newcomers, Caliban's what we call this certain building in the business district that the shadows seem to be coming from. I figured we could use this place as our own....mini base of sorts. You know if you need a place to rest up or get together to form a team. While I might not be here all the time, everyone on our network is free to use during the Dark Hour. Just don't try to set the place on fire, alright?

If it was that simple, yes. We haven't gone that deep into it yet. The floors are like a maze and sometimes we're blocked from advancing any further.

Sounds like a pain. I don't have much to do around here, and I'm not exactly keen on sitting with my thumb up my ass, so if you plan to explore it further then I can offer my help.

I'm currently looking for bearable employment...that excludes waiting tables, but working in the kitchen should be acceptable.

I'm...not very good in the kitchen, but I can make a marvelous cup of tea~! ♥

That's right. I figured many of us would like a place to hide our weapons, or store supplies while we go about our daily lives. Not to mention we can use the place to rest up if we don't want to walk all the way back to the hotel or the dorms.

That sounds great. It's a good place for teams to assemble, away from the civilians.

Caliban.. That place with all the floors, yeah? [A pause.]

If you still need some help with your place, I can come in if you want, Saori.

[She laughs.]

No need to call me that. I'm Saori. Well, the store doesn't open until next week, but you're welcome to come by before to get yourself orientated with the place. I'll send you the address.

Of course, you're more than welcome to help! I'll probably need with the tea since I'll be doing most of the pastries and food items.

Okay, thanks! I've been thinking of getting a job, so the timing is really perfect. Plus, it looks like a great place!

True. I'm sure a lot of us have gathered some attention with our purchases from Felix's Finds alone. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate a place specifically for us instead of the hotel.

Yep. I don't think we've gone that deep into yet. It might some more clues and treasures we could use.

Sure. I'm thinking about moving some furniture to the attic area. Most of the cafe items are being set up now. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it must be slightly odd for the people here when there's an assembly of us there.

Ah, well, I think I'll keep the plants outside. Though I might have to consider getting an air filter installed for the interior and the attic. I almost didn't consider that. Thank you.

Mmm, tea sounds kind of nice right about now, actually. I don't know if I can offer any long-term help, but I don't mind doing some short-term stuff if you need me to.

[She laughs.]

That's good! You should come by when we open then! I have all these different blends everyone should try. There will be treats too.

Well I wouldn't say no to another visit to that place, actually. If you need someone to come, count me in.

You got an attic over there? Nice. Alright, when do you want me to drop by for help?

[She pulls out two drawers and they're filled with many rectangular tins, individually labeled.]

It's small compared to my goal, but I have a fair share of both black and green teas. I'll be getting some herbal ones too. Once I have enough, I might be able to do custom blends for everyone.

Sure, if anyone would like work here, even for a short time, they're welcome to come in.

Oh, good. That, I can handle. I've never had a job before, so it seems interesting to me. And it'll get me out of the hotel and around a bit. I could use that. I've been feeling a little cooped up, if you get my meaning.~

Excellent! Then I'll see if I can make it this afternoon.

Yes, I do have some stuff that needs to be moved there and I prefer if people on our network only get to see it. It will sort of like a base of operations for us when we need it.
