The practice of deep frying started in ancient Egypt, and allowed for a quick and easy way to cook food as well as preserve it. Oils keep the food from breaking down as quickly, and allow certain foods to be kept for longer periods of time than if it was merely cooked. Deep frying has continued on since then, the practice being used for such things as tempura, chicken, pickles, and doughnuts to name a few.

Deep frying is a method that is exactly how it sounds. The food is submerged in hot fat until cooked through. It is a quick method and excellent for making very salty foods.
Because humans like to experiment with their food, and enjoy a novelty factor. I have to admit, the truck down by one of the department stores sells amazing deep fried milk and mars bars.
Deserts. Mars bars are chocolate bars but I think they're better all warm and melted. As for the milk...I think it's condensed milk they use but I have no actual idea.
