[Video] ectoBiologist has begun pestering prospero....... again.

[During the dark hour tonight, a memory is played out on all the communicators for anyone who is paying attention. There's been a lot of that going around recently, of course. But the boy this memory belongs to hasn't been seen in this city since sometime in April. Although he may be recognizable to some of you who have been here a while.]

[The memory starts here. and continues here. ]

[About a minute later, the screen comes back on to show the confused face of John Egbert.]

That was....weird. Anybody else ever get sent back where you came from for like, five minutes?

Well... that or I just had the strangest dream...

Hehe, yep. Last time I checked it was still me...

[He chuckles nervously, not sure why she'd be so surprised to see him. He'd only been gone an hour from his perspective. And he still wasn't a hundred percent sure it hadn't been a dream.]

Back...? So I really did leave? That wasn't a dream?

Too? You mean you also went home? Hey, do you think all the other people who left came back too?

Hehe, yeah....

[He feels bad for some reason. Even though his disappearing act wasn't really something he could control.]

A lot of us were worried when you disappeared! Time apparently gets strange here too. When I had disappeared and came back for a day or so, I spent twenty years in my home world.

Why are you apologizing? You and the others who disappeared were forcibly taken.

Well, I know V/V's back, at least.

No, it wasn't a dream. I missed you.

Twenty years?!? Seriously? I was only gone for an hour, maybe two tops! And even that feels pretty weird.

It must be surreal to come back after being home that long.

Hehe, but I wasn't even gone that long.

[Really just long enough to get to the other side of the reality wall, level up a whole bunch and toss a bucket containing a heartfelt letter to his friends at Karkat's head.]

Awesome! We should see who else is still around and throw a party or something.

I got sent back....

[He almost says 'home.' But then remembers that his home isn't really a thing anymore. Even if they won the game, and created a new universe, going back home wasn't ever going to happen.]

.... to where I was before coming here. But only for a little while. I didn't get to do much besides talk to my sister and write a letter to my friends.
