[This video only catches the tail end of a fight. Zett looks roughed up, and some Shadows on the streets are giving him a hard time, when a bolt of lightning comes from nowhere.

Or, rather, it comes from a tall, blue-skinned humanoid, who points his bone staff at the enemies and sends another shock of lightning at them to finish them off.

So why does Zett seem even more terrified than when they were still attacking him?]

[Baal Zebul disappears into darkness, and Zett shivers and speaks.]

Apparently what I'm supposed to rely on to do all my fighting here is the same thing that tried to kill you.

That's kind of creepy... but don't worry! We've beaten it once, so if it gets out of control... Uh.

[Wait, he doesn't have his Persona yet. Crap.]

I'm never using him. If I use him he'll get stronger and then we'll have more of a problem.

Good point. Then- [Smug, dramatic pose.] I'll protect you instead!

[Zett smiles and looks away from the camera briefly before turning back.]

I know I can.

Do you need help? You look pretty beat up.

I could use somebody to help me get back to our room.

Right! I'm on my way. ...where are you?

Outside the place I got fired from. I think it has it out for me.

Jeez... talk about a jinxed place. I'll be right there!

[Zett waves and shuts off his end of the video. Time to focus on not getting hit by more Shadows, because like hell was he using that Persona.]

[Setsuna, making a mental note to check out the weapons shop, heads straight there. It's a little hard for a kid, even one as active as he is, to get there, so he does have a few scrapes when he arrives. Leaning over to catch his breath, he grins a little at Zett.]

Hey, Zett.

You got here fast. Sure you didn't ride in on a white horse?

[Zett has a few more bruises than he did when the video ended - it's hard for him to fight Shadows with no lightning attacks and no Persona he's willing to use.]

Haha. Does that make you my princess?

I just ran all the way. [He rubs his cheek irritably, before noticing a Shadow coming at them. It happens as naturally as if he had simply called. A pull inside of his mind as something awakens and the familiar feel of the air heating as fire strikes out at the attackers.

His first thought

turns out to be false.

Instead he sees an unfamiliar (or is it?) figure fading away, as a voice echoes inside of his head.]

I am Helel, the one who brings light to the fallen. From now unto the end, I will be with you...

[And then it's gone.]

...does any Persona out there wear pants?

Probably not. But I still like yours better, hero.

Huh? [asfdg all the hero talk is making him a little flustered.] I- I think you'd like any other Persona better, right?

That's true. But I still think yours is cool even as Personas go.

Have you got your breath back? We should be heading back to the hotel soon.

Yeah. We should get going.

...oh, right! Zett, tomorrow we should go take a look at that weapon shop and see if there's something there we can handle.

That's a good idea. Hand-to-hand isn't going to be practical for me for anything much tougher than this.

Yeah... It's pretty dangerous here. For now just stick close to me, ok? I'll get you out of here!

[Zett will just be trailing close behind Setsuna, making small conversation as they walked.] Have you made any friends here?

Not really. I've met a handful of people, but nobody I'd consider a friend. How about you?

Same. I guess it takes more than having the same teachers to call somebody a friend for me.

Real friends are pretty hard to come by. It takes time.

I have one here. That's enough to keep me happy.
