tvk | 43: I always feel like somebody's watching me [video]

[The phone is propped up by some books and the feed starts with Saori at her hotel room's desk. If anyone could read upside down, they'd notice the desk was littered with Japanese-to-English translation notes with a large old book. Saori looks at the phone, making sure it's recording.]

Hey, um, guys? I don't know if it's just me but it feels like someone's watching us. More so than usual. Maybe it's just my imagination.

Anyways, the real reason why I'm recording this. Would it be alright if we combined all the winter holidays including New Year's into one party? I noticed the full moon is coming up and honestly a party afterwards sounds better. Of course, everyone is welcome to do your gift exchanges at your own pace.

[There's suddenly scratching coming from her door. She sits up and reaches off screen for a small knife. The scratching continues as she gets closer and looks into the peep hole. Quietly, she opens the door but just a crack and then looks down.]

Sirius...oh geeze, don't scare me like that. Wait, what's that you got there?

[The Australian Shepherd walked in but there was something in his mouth. Saori goes on her knees to takes it and she gasps. She suddenly rushes to grab a towel to put down on the desk. It's very small with black matted fur and sure enough it turns out to be a kitten. ]

My word...Sorry I'll get back to you as soon as can.

[She reaches to turn off the phone.]

Yeah. Let's hope it doesn't escalate to the point we wear foil hats and carry a shotgun at all times. That would be overdoing it.

She's very young and maybe wouldn't make it through this weather. Besides, Sirius brought her here so I'm going to take it as a sign.

As for the kitten, I think you should. Sirius is intelligent enough to recognize that you're probably the best thing for her at the moment.

Yeah, after all he's the one who adopted me not the other way around. I've got her warmed up now and Sirius is keeping her company. I'll have the vet take a look at her tomorrow.

Y-yeah, a party after this sounds like a good idea. [April looks a bit nervous, even more so than usual.]

... And, um, was that a kitten that Sirius brought in?

I know but looks like she's been through a lot. I plan to have a vet take a look at her in the morning.

Yeah, poor thing looks like it's be through a lot.

Is everything on your side okay?

Mm... Are you gonna take it to a vet?

... And yeah. I'm kinda sticking to Ledah right now, since I feel calmer around him. [She gives a small, sheepish smile.]

[Sirius lays his head on the desk because he heard a familiar voice. Then he focuses attention on the ball of fluff warming up on the towel. ]

Yeah, I'm going over there first thing in the morning.

Is he there with you? And hey, are you alright?

You should totally do that. Make sure she's doin' okay and set stuff up for her.

Okay, that's good. [She gives Sirius a quick smile, before nodding at Saori's question.]

Mmhm, he's here with me. And I'm... more anxious than usual, but I'm fine besides that. What about you?

Damn right.

If you need any help with her, just let me know. We had a cat when we were younger and he lived a decent life with us.

Sure thing. It's been a while since I raised a cat but I could always use a hand. I haven't decided a name yet either but there's plenty time for that. Right now I got to make sure she's okay.

She'll be ok Saori. I know it.

I never thought I was gonna adopt another pet but if Sirius brought her over to me, I think it's a sign.

Hmmm...same here. And hey, you're always welcome to come over to my room and the tea house. We should be sticking together after all.

Yeah, she's looking very cold and hungry. Poor thing. I wonder what happened to her mother. She's very lucky Sirius found her.

It's been a while since I've taken care of a cat but I don't want to give it up just yet.
