Why do you people have more than one outfit anyway? Some of you have even taken obtaining new clothes as some kind of hobby where you get as many of the kind you like as you can. None of this makes any sense to me.

It's a girl thing, isn't it? Even at school, the girls kept modifying the length of their skirts.

Do you mean for the uniform? In the world I was in before, there was a uniform at the school, too.

Yeah. They kept getting past the dress code by changing bits of the uniform.

Odd. But people seem to like clothes. I don't even understand owning more than one outfit.

Most people have more than one outfit so they can wear different ones while their clothes are being cleaned. But a lot of girls judge people by their clothing, and the fashions change all the time, so it's kinda hard to tell if you're wearing the right thing or not. Girls worry about that stuff for some reason.

I see. So that's why the girls at school told me that I was strange and asked if I washed my clothes.

That was probably it, yeah. But do you really only have one outfit? Didn't you have to change for gym? Or funerals?

Back in the Land of Greenery, I had my school uniforms for winter, summer, and gym, as well. I never saw any reason to regain them.

Well, that's good. You'd probably have gotten into trouble if you didn't have them back there. At least if this 'Land of Greenery' is anything like Japan.

Well, most of the time it's different outfits for different functions...also that you have something to wear on laundry day.

Why are there rules for this?

Well, most cultures attach value to being clothed instead of nude or mostly nude in public.

I'm aware. Even so, there's no reason not to stop at owning one outfit. Where I used to live, I also had my school uniforms, but I didn't understand why those existed, either.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I do have to admit I enjoy having the variety of things to wear. It's not a rule to have more then one outfit, it's just something that is a cultural norm. As for the school uniforms, that is more to signify being a part of something. A social marker.
