[He wasn't sure why, but Jin was feeling...less apathetic lately. He was almost feeling like he wanted to help out. As a matter of fact, it was almost as if the war in Ikaruga had never happened and he was back to the way he was at the academy.

I don't think there is a way to test out that theory. If it's correct, then we'll leave if and only if the threat has been eliminated.

True. Though by that logic there isn't much reason not to combat them; besides the admittedly-nebulous theory, they're very violent and generally a danger to those of us still mobile during that time.

But there's a difference between self-defense and actively pursuing them.
