[Lancer didn't appear on the network himself today. Whether out of shame or cowardice, he didn't know. But today, he simply couldn't show his face. The message he sent out was short and directly to the point.]
I seem to have something of a problem today.
I would like to ask for advice, if I could. Could anyone listen for a minute?

...Well, technically not in this case [AHEM.] ...Whassup?

Imagine for a moment there's someone that is persistently attracted to you. But you know what they're feeling isn't genuine, and you wish to cut them off and step away without hurting them.
What do you think would be the right thing to do? [He had done this many times before, yet Sola...she was a special case. He wanted to distance himself from the Fourth Holy Grail War, and that included her.]

Well... first I'd question how I know it's not genuine. With that skepticism aside, what you're describing seems kind of like a naive dream. If they're infatuated with you, any cutting of ties will hurt them.

I know that, far too well. What do you think would result in the least amount of pain on her side?
[Audio]
Anyway, I'm not sure if there even is a way to go about it without causing any pain. Unrequited love hurts.

And...yes, I know it does. But I have to distance myself from her, and I don't want to be so cruel as to do it carelessly.

The problem is, your choices mainly seem to be a) be blunt and sever ties immediately - painful in it's own right, but quick and efficient. Or b) to skirt around the issue and be subtle, dragging it out. The problem with this one is it might not even work at all.

Do you think appealing to logic would work at all?
[Audio]
...I don't know. Possibly. I admit a great deal of the problem comes down to whether or not magecraft of a certain level can wear off over time.

I don't suppose there's anyone from your time here skilled in, err, magicry?

[Not a question, a statement. Boundaries we will RESPECT them.]
