⚔ 006; [video/action]
[phone; morning; locked to Sola-Ui on Saber's phone]
Saber? [He wasn't worried, strictly speaking. Of course Saber could take care of herself, occasional mishap aside. But it was strange that she hadn't returned last night. And the fact that he hadn't heard from her...he almost might have called that 'suspicious'.]
I haven't spoken to you recently, are you alright?
[Surely she was just with Shirou. Right?]
[Intuition rarely failed a knight. And Lancer's was telling him something was not right at all.]
[action; early evening]
[Lancer didn't know what to do. He didn't know anything. The former Servant in glasses sat on a park bench staring blankly at exactly nothing.]
[It was all his fault. Saber had died--by a hand not his own--and it was all his fault.]
[He didn't know what hurt more. The fact that again one of that pair had ruined everything and stolen his chance for a fight with her, or the fact that this would not have happened if he'd kept his mouth shut and just gone along with Sola's obsession. She would have been unhurt, Saber would have been alive, and Lancer...]
[Lancer would have been as miserable now as he was in Fuyuki. A small price to pay.]
[Today he likely looked nothing like the amicable, smiling and cheerful indivudual he so often was--there was a touch of ice in gold eyes, a strange sense of detachment in the way he held himself and stared at nothing. He had to stay that way. Lancer...didn't want to be angry. He didn't want to fly into the screaming anger of that vengeful spirit that had died in the Fourth War.]
[More than anything he didn't want it to keep hurting.]

[There's silence.
There's a very long silence.]
Why.
[It is not a question, nor is it an outburst. It is just a word spoken by him.]
no subject
Sola, she's...obsessed with me. She must have realized how close I was to Saber and--if I had realized, if I hadn't distanced myself so quickly--!
I'm so sorry, Emiya. This is my fault.
no subject
[It was not his either. Nor was it Sola's. The one at fault here is just human feelings.]
no subject
[He had honestly expected anger, shouting, maybe even a fight then and there. Not a statement like that.]
I don't understand. How can you say that?
no subject
[AKA Everyone thought that Sola wasn't that crazy.]

The other part however, knows that this was all a big mess.]
...Don't beat yourself up.
no subject
...I have no choice. I can't hate Sola when I know this isn't entirely her fault, even though I want to--I can't just kill an unarmed woman no matter what she's done.
It's my fault. Why should I not direct that anger at myself?

[Shirou's anger is... well. Peaking.]

2.
1.
POW!
And Lancer might feel that a punch had just connected with his face.
And that Shirou is now standing up while looking pissed off]
no subject
[But if looks could kill, those gold eyes would have set Shirou on fire right now.]
no subject
If anything, he should be the one griefing over his failure to protect her.]
Stop blaming yourself, dammit!
1/2
[Lancer didn't say a word. He simply set aside the coffee Shirou handed him and stood up, composed as ever. The anger was gone from his expression despite the sudden ache where Shirou punched him, and he just stared for a moment or two.]
no subject
[You've just been punched in the face by the First Knight of Fianna.]
no subject
HAAAAARGH!
[Recovering from the force of the punch, Shirou is going to charge in for a left hook at Lancer's face!]
no subject
[Lancer raised an arm to block, countering with another punch aimed at Shirou's midsection.]
no subject
[Shirou stumbled back, down, but not out.
Which is why he's getting up quickly to his feet, and going to let loose a fucking straight at Lancer's abdomen.]
no subject
[Well shit, that kind of hurt. However, Lancer was basically made of iron even as a human--so his recovery was a fairly quick one.]
[Hey, there's a kick coming for your head, Shirou.]
no subject
HRK!
[That kinda hurt, but there's no way in hell he's going to lose to him.]
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
[So have an uppercut aimed at your chest!]
no subject
[Your chances, even with the hotbloodedness of an army of Kaminas, are not the best.]
I don't think so--!
[Lancer would just move to parry that and aim a left hook at your face, buddy.]
1/2
Shirou's going to be knocked down on the ground.
However, he's.
Still.
Going.
To.
Stand.
Up.]
2/2
[He's still going to charge at Lancer with the full force of
]

[So much so that Lancer might actually have smirked just a little at the sight. Yes, perhaps there was good reason that Saber thought of him so highly. But Lancer wasn't going to go down any more easily than Shirou would, that much was certain.]
[He shifted immediately into a fighting stance, meeting Shirou's charge with a kick aimed for his head.]
no subject
Yeah he's that ballsy.
SO HE'S GOING TO KNEE LANCER IN THE ABDOMEN AFTER SURVIVING THAT KICK.]
