⚔ 001; [video]

[It took him a moment to work out how the cellphone functioned; though Lancer wasn't utterly clueless about the era's technology, he was by no means all that well-versed in its functions. But he got it working regardless. Contrasting the armor he wore the previous night, today he was in simple civilian clothes. Considering it was part of a Servant's role to know how to blend in and survive in the modern era, Lancer knew how to seem nearly indistinguishable from a normal human.

Though admittedly, the gold eyes may have been a hint that he was a little more than average.]

Forgive me if this is interrupting anything, but I had a question.

[He had to be cautious to avoid drawing any unnecessary attention to himself in such a strange place. It was one thing to draw such attention as a human, but even more serious to do so as a Servant. Lancer didn't know if he was the only one there, or if the other Servants and Masters were in the city as well.

Wording things as carefully as he could without lying, Lancer continued.]

I seem to have lost a few things recently. Important things I'd like to get back as soon as I can. So I was wondering:

Did anyone see anything strange last night? Around...midnight or so?

[There was no real way of telling who had and hadn't experienced that strange occurrence the previous night. This was the only way of asking Lancer could come up with without sounding insane.]
