Forgive me if this is interrupting anything, but I had a question.

I seem to have lost a few things recently. Important things I'd like to get back as soon as I can. So I was wondering:

Did anyone see anything strange last night? Around...midnight or so?

[There was no real way of telling who had and hadn't experienced that strange occurrence the previous night. This was the only way of asking Lancer could come up with without sounding insane.]

That's right. I didn't want to state anything outright until I had an idea of how many people saw it all.

I ran into a few people last night who saw it.

Have you've also arrived recently?

I awoke here last night to find coffins lining the streets and all the colors distorted, to say nothing of the shadows.

We all seem to be in the same situation.

The coffins are gone now though and the shadows no longer seem to be moving.

For the moment. There's no telling whether or not that was an isolated incident. And there's still the questions of how and why, as well as where everything came from.

What I lost, you mean? Well, specifically I seem to have misplaced a lance of mine...and I think perhaps I hit my head at some point, as I believe I woke up in this city last night without being sure of how I got here.

Oh. I meant do you know what was going on with all the weird stuff last night. But a lance? Aren't those kind of big? [And therefore kind of hard to lose.]

I'm afraid I don't know what the explanation for last night could have been.

...And yes, ordinarily. But that doesn't seem to change the fact that mine has gone missing.

[His face drops into disappointment.] No one seems to know anything about what's going on here.
