It seemed like a nightmare at first for me as well but the only thing you can do is protect those around you and make sure no one gets hurt in the long run.

You'll get used to it, our allies here are very skilled when it comes to fighting the monsters that plague the dark hour.

Quite a few people are skilled at fighting and don't need as much help from their persona.[Plus everything so far has had a freaking fire resistance so his persona's useless.]

If you have yet to get yours I suggest you stay inside during the dark hour. The monsters that come out are quite hard to defeat if you only have a sword.
