[The video feed turns on to show the very worried face of a young girl. Getting knocked unconscious was already bad enough, but Madoka didn't recognize this area at all. It was way different from the vibrant town of Mitakihara. To pile more things onto her heap of worries, she had no idea how the ordeal of Kyouko and Sayaka's witch ended up. Did everything go as they had hoped? Maybe they were here too... She didn't like using other people's belongings, but it was the fastest way to get her bearings.]

Um... My name is Madoka Kaname, and I go to Mitakihara Middle School. I don't know where I am... So, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what's going on. [She gives a nod to substitute for a polite bow.] Th-Thank you very much for listening to this.

[The name escapes Madoka's lips nearly in the form of a whisper, and her eyes widen in surprise. She didn't expect Homura to be here. Then again, Madoka never expected her to show up most of the times she appeared.

Finally getting over the surprise, Madoka repeats herself more audibly, though there's still an air of anxiety in her voice.]

H-Homura-chan! What's going on? Do you know what happened to Sayaka-chan and Kyouko-chan? I'm really worried about them...

[Another person?]

You're at Prospero in the US.

[There's a moment of her looking startled, before she collects herself.]

We're in Prospero in the United States.

Where are you right now?

I-Is that really true?! We're all the way overseas?!

[Madoka would have not believed it, but Homura would never lie about something like that. It wouldn't be like her. Plus, she had seen too many strange and horrifying things back home. Something like this shouldn't be hard to consider.]

Um... Right now, it looks like I'm front of a hotel. It looks pretty old...

We are. [Outside the hotel?]

I'll be there.

[Yes, another person. Hello, hello. Madoka is quite surprised upon finding out that she was in another country.]

Eh, really...? Then it's going to be really hard to get back to Japan... I wish I could contact my parents somehow to let them know that I'm alright.

I don't know if we can reach our folks with these phones, so maybe you can try calling them?

[He's considering doing that before her broadcast.]

Mm, I understand. I'll be waiting, then.

[With that, Madoka shuts off the phone and waits for Homura's arrival, many worries being her only company for the time being.]

Mm, that sounds like a good idea, but... I don't feel comfortable calling long distance over someone else's cellphone.

[Madoka wouldn't know how to pay that person back... She's too young to have a part-time job, after all.]

[She won't have to wait long. Homura's just running down the stair case and coming out of the hotel.]

[Wow, she was closer than Madoka had thought. Sadly, this is just a shy and normal Madoka, not the motherly omnipotent Goddess Madoka.]

Homura-chan... Why are we here? Do you know what happened to Kyouko-chan?

[She's still Madoka to Homura.]

Me neither. Plus, I can't find my bag anywhere... I have the feeling that this isn't going to be easy.

Um... Sayaka-chan, she... became a witch. Kyouko-chan told me that maybe if we tried talking to her, she could change back, so I decided to go with her. But then I got grabbed by Sayaka-chan, and then...

[She trails off in a pause, then continues:]

... I blacked out. I'm sorry, that's all I can remember...

[So this Madoka was from the past.

Kyoko sacrificed herself. They're both dead.

So we all get phones when we wake up here? Mm... Maybe I can use it to call my parents and let them know I'm okay. I hope I don't have to pay for long distance...

I am actually not sure, I've not tried contacting anyone outside the city.

[Sayaka didn't change back into a person? Horror was clearly written all over her face, and she felt like she was about to puke. Tears ran freely down her face as Madoka felt her legs give way, and slid to her knees on the concrete.]

N-No way... That's not right... That's too terrible! It's not fair! Kyouko-chan really believed in Sayaka-chan, and was determined to bring her back! So why... Why did this have to happen?!
