Right, okay. I don't know if anybody else has this problem, but I'm just a little behind the times when it comes to technology - that is, things have advanced enough here that I don't know as much as I'd like even if I can manage the important stuff.

I was going to keep this entry short. Uh. I need game suggestions. If anybody is current with video game technology, what should I be saving up for? Cost is definitely a concern, but I'm pretty sure I can get something eventually. And I'd like something with multiplayer options, 'cause, you know. It is my solemn duty as roommate and Master to introduce Caster to everything that exists. It is also my solemn duty to beat the pants off of him a couple times.

So. What kinds of games do you guys like?

I meant I almost am up-to-date. I know what a cell phone is, but I'm not used to them taking videos. The internet didn't have Youtube when I was last using it.

No, no, that's not really what I wanted! It's an expression; it means if we played any games together it would be fun to seriously defeat you a few times. It doesn't actually have anything to do with your pants.

...'Internet'?

And that's a ridiculous-sounding expression.

You haven't used the internet?

Lots of expressions are ridiculous to foreign speakers. It's why idioms are hard to learn, because you can't really pick up on what they mean just from the words. Like 'it's raining cats and dogs', that one's the classic 'what the hell does that mean' expression.

Hoho-! You sound confident, Ryuunosuke!

[And just like that his mood shifts from confused to pleased. He spreads his hands wide, gesturing broadly. A wide grin plasters his face.]

Then it will simply have to be my duty to fight you in these games with all I have!

[Ryuunosuke gets excited over the littlest things. Like beating Caster in silly games.]

All the video games here seem to be different from the ones back home, since video games haven't been much of a development priority since before I was born.

If they work the same, though, just find the fighting game with the longest title and you should be set for something you can play with other people. Could give a proper recommendation if I had the money for a stupid game console...

Do you mean to say that this metal box actually does something? I thought that was just a cabinet. I was trying to figure out how it opened.

Long titles, fighting games, got it. I used to play in arcades sometimes, so I can probably recognize a couple series.

[Moving closer, he leans over and peers into the screen, blinking. So this is...]

[...of course he thinks it's like his psychic magic 8-ball of stalking.]

I can't. [Chuckle.] There's only a limited number of stuff it shows, even if it's a really big number. It's not like your crystal ball where you control everything.

*sigh*

If you find one, let me know. Actually beating someone at a video game would be a nice way to break up the boredom that doesn't involve swinging a fire axe around.

Perhaps you haven't learnt to command it properly yet.

I'm preeetty sure that none of these couple hundred channels are the Saber channel, but I guess I could be wrong, huh?

There are not a hundred of them on this screen.

This may not be apparent watching me, but my immense badassery is mostly mental training. My reflexes and situational awareness apply just as much to video games as to fighting monsters.

Plus, there wasn't much else to do in my freetime on a paramilitary base.
