[When April went out during the Dark Hour, she was just expecting to fight some Shadows as usual. She was not expecting to run into a Shadow that turned into, well, herself. But it wasn't her; her doubles eyes were a cold and eerie bright gold and her expression was so... blank and emotionless; the complete opposite of how she usually is. And when her double started to speak, she did not like what she had to say.

So people out during the Dark Hour may see two Aprils standing face-to-face, the normal one glaring and on-edge while her double is impassive. Though her Shadow soon vanishes, leaving April to just blink at the empty spot in shock.]

... W-what the...?

[Sometime after the encounter with her Shadow, April decides to speak to the others in Prospero. While she tries to hide it, it's clear that she's spooked.]

So, uh, you guys remember that message we got sent a few days ago? About facing ourselves or whatever? Well, I, um, think it meant that literally; I-I saw a Shadow that turned into me a-and it said stuff only I would know...

H-has anyone else seen something like this?

[This was a rare instance where they didn't always accompany each other.]

I-I... don't know. [Her expression is slowly moving from shocked to scared, even though she's trying to hide.]

It... looked and s-sounded like me and i-it knew stuff about me...

No -- though I did stay inside during the Dark Hour tonight. Um. Are you sure you didn't just imagine it? Overtired again or something?

[The last part is spoken in the tone of someone who knows how insensitive it sounds, but they feel pressured to ask anyway.]

No, I-I'm not this time. [Her tone, despite still being shaken, shows that she doesn't mind. She knows how weird this sounds.]

O-other people saw my double too, b-but I wanted to know if any others saw a double of themselves... i-it was freaky as hell.

Sorry, sorry... just, you know. Thought I'd check. I remember you'd said you'd stopped with the sleep-deprivation-ing, so...

[She trails off, shaking her head.]

...Well, I'm kinda used to seeing a double of myself, when I think about it. But, you don't have any sisters -- err, do you?

P-pretty sure I'm an only child. And I doubt I would have any sisters with g-glowing yellow eyes... [She gives a shaky laugh, but it sounds faint and almost forced.]

I dun-no~ Some of the people around here with goldish-yellow-y eyes -- have you met Lanc- err, Diarmuid yet? In the right light they almost seem to glow.

[Going with attempts at humor to defuse things a bit? You betcha.]

Is that what the message was about before?

It wasn't you, April. It was a Shadow.

[She nods, but what he says next gets her to stare at him in shock.]

A S-Shadow?... I-it would make sense, but how the hell could a Shadow k-know so much... [Now she tries to force herself to calm down; she felt sick and anxious and now was not the time to be panicing.]

I don't know. But I don't yet understand the workings of this place. This is troublesome, but something we can deal with.

[Do you see this look of uncertainty she's giving you right now, Ledah? But she still nods.]

Y-you're right, I'm sure we can handle this... I'll j-just have to be more prepared for when it appears again.

If you wish, I'll stay close to you for the rest of the night and offer my support.

[Judging from the small smile that's slowly appearing on her face, she seems to appreciate the attempts.]

Y-yeah, that is true. Maybe I just have a twin I-I never knew about or something.

I've seen some movies like this before! Dopplegangers are are a lot cooler than zombies.

[April gives him a small, although shaky smile.]

[...Extremely hesitantly, he reaches out to take her hand. That was comforting, wasn't it?]

[Even though it surprises her, it does seem to help as she relaxes a bit as she holds his hand in return.]

... Um, sh-should we get moving?

Yes. The dark hour isn't finished yet.

[A nod and onwards they go!

Though after a while, April stops walking when she spots something in the shadows nearby, prompting her to peer at it curiously.]

What is it, April?

[He knows better than to ignore her reaction.]

Happens all the time if I'm gonna believe what I see all over the media. Long-lost twins, twin telepathy, that kinda thing~
