Action

[When April went out during the Dark Hour, she was just expecting to fight some Shadows as usual. She was not expecting to run into a Shadow that turned into, well, herself. But it wasn't her; her doubles eyes were a cold and eerie bright gold and her expression was so... blank and emotionless; the complete opposite of how she usually is. And when her double started to speak, she did not like what she had to say.

So people out during the Dark Hour may see two Aprils standing face-to-face, the normal one glaring and on-edge while her double is impassive. Though her Shadow soon vanishes, leaving April to just blink at the empty spot in shock.]

... W-what the...?

[Sometime after the encounter with her Shadow, April decides to speak to the others in Prospero. While she tries to hide it, it's clear that she's spooked.]

So, uh, you guys remember that message we got sent a few days ago? About facing ourselves or whatever? Well, I, um, think it meant that literally; I-I saw a Shadow that turned into me a-and it said stuff only I would know...

H-has anyone else seen something like this?

Sorry, sorry... just, you know. Thought I'd check. I remember you'd said you'd stopped with the sleep-deprivation-ing, so...

[She trails off, shaking her head.]

...Well, I'm kinda used to seeing a double of myself, when I think about it. But, you don't have any sisters -- err, do you?

P-pretty sure I'm an only child. And I doubt I would have any sisters with g-glowing yellow eyes... [She gives a shaky laugh, but it sounds faint and almost forced.]

I dun-no~ Some of the people around here with goldish-yellow-y eyes -- have you met Lanc- err, Diarmuid yet? In the right light they almost seem to glow.

[Going with attempts at humor to defuse things a bit? You betcha.]

[Judging from the small smile that's slowly appearing on her face, she seems to appreciate the attempts.]

Y-yeah, that is true. Maybe I just have a twin I-I never knew about or something.

Happens all the time if I'm gonna believe what I see all over the media. Long-lost twins, twin telepathy, that kinda thing~

Hehe, g-guess I found my long-lost twin, then. Shame t-that she was so creepy.

Hey, that kinda situation would be creepy if it came up out of the blue no matter what. Someone with your face, maybe your voice, maybe even some of your personality traits?

[A Beat.]

Had the same voice and face, but the personality... well, it was the complete opposite of mine.

... Y-yeah. I'm still uneasy, but I'll be fine.

Okay. Don't hesitate to gimmie a call if you need me, okay? If this surprise twin is rude again -- well, I can give her the cane-drubbing of her life as an effort to teach her some manners, I suppose.

[She smiles wryly at that.]

Okay, thanks, Devola.

[She gives a small smile back, though it soon fades as her expression turns a bit more thoughtful.]

Though, if you do see my twin, please be careful. I'm not sure what she's exactly capable of yet.

Don't worry, I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself.

[A pause as she looks at her phone's display, frowning.]

You stay safe too, alright? Phone's lighting up with all kinds of messages now, and none of 'em seem too good.

Ah, okay.

[Then she blinks and has at her look at her own phone's display, and she mutters s curse to herself with a frown.]

... Yeah, looks like things are going downhill fast.

[She murmurs to herself, going over these current events analytically and just speaking flow-of-thought-like.]

...Pattern seems to be "a duplicate for one's own self" so far. Dunno if your twin'll bother anyone but you -- or if anyone else's will bother anyone but them. Still, be careful. Looks like they're appearing and vanishing like the shadows do.
