[If you are not in the hotel lobby, that's okay! V/V has set her phone up to record one of her 'songs'.

She's settled in one of the chairs with a guitar, and singing without any words while she plays accompaniment. Her voice is... 'angelic' is a bit cliche, but it fits, doesn't it? It definitely is worth a listen.

This is what she sounds like. To a T.

She'll be singing and playing whatever the whole day, so feel free to catch her at any point.]

I'm trying to think of a nice way to put it: you're naive, but extremely perceptive. Sometimes the former gets in the way of the latter.

[She's quiet for a few moments before she makes a gesture to the guitar]

Hey. Could I look at that for a minute?

Of course. [She hands it over without a fuss.]

[She'll look the instrument over, plucking idly at a few strings as she tries to get a feel for it.]

Y'know, it'll never stop being interesting to me. Instruments can have the same basic shape and make, but a few slight differences can make it sound totally different.

They sound beautiful. It took me a long time to learn how to use a guitar, though.

Strings are about as tricky as they are mechanically simple... just apply pressure [Like so.] and pluck. [Like so.]

'course, to actually play something nice it takes a while to find the right pattern. Or blind luck, maybe.

[She's almost mechanically fallen into playing a lazy, relaxing, meandering tune while she talks.]

I have what I want to play in my head first, and then I have to try to find how to play it. It's hard.

There's forms of written notation for "how to play this song", but I don't care for it all that much, usually.

[A shrug, some more plucking away sedately.]

Like I said, loads of free time. Free time and the chance to experiment a bit.

I can do that, I bet. I'll become even better at this.

You'll have to learn to read the notation first, but that should be easy enough.

Maybe I should get a teacher?

Maybe. I could offer some help, if you want. Sheet music can't have changed all that much from what I'm used to...

That would be really nice of you.

Music's something I sincerely, truly enjoy -- and I'd like to say I'm alright at. I'd have to be a total snot to not offer you a hand with stuff related to it.

I wouldn't think you were a snot at all if you were too busy, but you're not. So thank you.

Y'know, I think I'd consider it a recreational activity, even if I was busy.

[The guitar was passed back to it's rightful owner and Devola, performing an impersonation of the thermodynamic concept of entropy, slouched back into the couch listlessly. Listlessly, but contentedly.]

A bit. It's mostly me being lazy, though.

Being lazy can be fun.

[She raises an arm listlessly, tracing figures in the air with little pattern, rhyme, or reason.]

I've spent so much time being lazy, you'd think I'd be tired of it by now. ... But nah, It's almost enjoyable for once.

I think it's interesting what people enjoy.

[Some brief deliberation on the matter transpires before she continues.]

Yeah. People-watching can be pretty fun.
