Very funny. Let's all make fun of the people from a different planet who happen to type differently. I don't make fun of your accents or your slang or the things I don't understand. Is it so hard to extend the same courtesy?

I don't think anyone's more or less special or lacking or anything because of how they talk or how they act or what place they have in society. But I am fed up with all of the things on the network that make us out to be freaks. It feels bad. It feels really, really bad.

I'm willing to try and type differently if that helps, but is it really so much to ask to have a little common courtesy?

I'm sorry if this comes off as a 'hussie fit' or whatever the right Earth term is. I'm not normally like this, but this is really upsetting me.

There's been a lot of it going around.

And it's like -- well, it really is like having an accent where I'm from. So many of us live so far apart that the only real way we have to communicate is text. The differences in how we type are what set us apart from each other.

I'm not so used to Earth countries, but I'll try and explain and hopefully not screw up in the process. It's like if someone from America were talking to someone in France or something and they're talking in English. They'd still be able to understand each other, but they sound different.

I'm Feferi Peixes, and I'm not from Earth. I'm from a planet called Alternia. The thing is? A lot of its inhabitants live far away from each other. We communicate through text messages, and the colors and the quirks help differentiate each other.

...I'd honestly thought people were better than that, about trying to understand differences. I've spent hours in the library since I've gotten here trying to figure out how Earth mythology and such work when I don't have much to go on. And I don't have anything to show for my side of it other than my own words, so I can't tell anyone else to do the same.

Feferi, I think it was just a misunderstanding and a few things got out of hand with people experimenting with their text options. It's not your fault at all.

Sometimes there are people who are still a bit culturally insensitive or may not know about how different cultures work.
