tvk | one [accidental video]

[it's early evening when leanne finds herself in prospero, and instead of her handgun, she now has a cellphone. a device she has no idea how to use or what it even is. see, they don't have this type of technology in basel. so after hitting quite a few buttons on the little device, her face can be seen in deep concentration as she accidentally begins broadcasting a video. she whines now.] It says 'Video' but nothing's happening~

[the video shakes and pans out to show the sky as she continues talking to herself.] Oh-! I can take pictures!? I'm going to take all sorts of pictures for Zephyr- oops! [the video swirls around before falling still against the ground, leanne can be seen on the video partially hidden behind grass until she picks the phone up again.]

I hope I didn't break it... [she plays with the phone some more, her face only partially shown with the sky as a backdrop.] Wow, this thing has everything! I wonder what 'Email' is? And 'Voicemail' for that matter... I can send my voice in a letter? Wait- what's this?

[the camera moves and shows her entire face as she squints at it now. her eyes widen a bit after a moment.] Oh! Can other people see this?! [she smiles and waves with her free hand.] Hi whoever is watching! Zephyr and Vashyron, if you're seeing this- don't worry, I'm okay!

... [there's silence for a moment at that. when she finally speaks she sounds somewhat amused and accusatory.] Zephyr, is that you?

[ what the hell is a zephyr- oh wait, she mentioned something like that earlier, didn't she? a person? ] Mmmm nope.

Oh. [she sounds slightly disappointed.] Then I don't know who 'me' is.

No one. [ a long bout of silence. ] You just got here, huh.

You know, I've never met anyone named 'no one'. But I did just get here! Do you know where here is?

[ is this girl serious. aaanyway. ] Pro...something. Oh, Prospero. Yeah. You're stuck here, just like the rest of us.

Stuck? You mean I can't get back to Basel?

[ for a second there, he thought she said his name. weird. ] Nope. Stuck means stuck.

Is that your home?

[heh. she frowns even though he can't see her. but what about zephyr and vashyron? she doesn't want them to worry. she's disappeared so suddenly after all.] Oh.

[well, she can't do anything about that now.] Yeah, it is. It's a large tower that goes deep into the Earth and high into the sky.

You live in a tower?

Well, I live in a city on the tower. Ebel City.

[ "city on the tower"? jesus, where are these people coming from? ] Sounds windy.

[that makes her laugh.] Maybe sometimes, but we're pretty well protected with all the metal and machines. Basel is huge. There's all kinds of cities and towns on it, and different levels too.

Probably isn't as protected as you think, seeing as you're here and not there now.

[her smile and laughter fades now and she frowns a bit.] Yeah... I wonder how I got here. I hope Zephyr and Vashyron are alright. I didn't think we could leave Basel.

Magic. [ he's half-serious. ] We definitely can't leave this place. You shouldn't think too much about it.

Well, if magic brought me here, why can't it take me back? [she's taking him half-seriously.] And if you're not from Basel, where do you live?

Maybe it's moody.

I've never heard of moody magic or England before.

It's across the ocean. I'll probably never see it again. [ which is just fine with him. ] Since we're stuck.

You should find somewhere to stay before nighttime.

You're a real downer, huh. You don't know for sure if we'll be stuck forever.

...Somewhere to stay? Do you know anywhere? [and then a thought occurs to her. perhaps she can learn who this mysterious boy on the other end of the line is.] I'm Leanne, by the way.

[ he slumps in his chair and ducks his chin into his collar. he's doesn't think himself as a pessimist at all, though he's heard it plenty of times. ] I'm just realistic.

[ oh, shoot, now he has to actually help her out. he shouldn't have said anything. and wonderful, introductions! let's just...ignore that. there's a small sigh before he replies again. ] Uuuh- where are you now?

[boo. don't ignore her! but she looks around for a moment.] Um-! Looks like some kind of park?

[ it's not worth the efforttt. and oh, he thinks he knows where the park is. at least, on a map. ] Bayview's the closest. It's a hotel. Keep going, uh- [ dammit he doesn't want to check that map. ] - north. Maybe.

Maybe? You don't know for sure?
