Excellent work the other day, I propose we all meet at Kelly's Tavern Sunday night for something of a feast and discussion of our tactics and what we have learned. Bring any new people we have found as well.

Also, I have found an abandoned warehouse in the business district that will work well for communal physical training, if we wish to undertake such things. They aren't the sparring cages of the vengeful spirit, but I think they'll do for the moment.

[ Action, business district Garviel is practicing in an abandoned warehouse in the business district, running through unusual and rather alien sword forms that also include a pistol movement as well, though obviously he's not firing a gun off, it is there, however. Sometime between the initial climb and now, he's acquired a serviceable spatha and automatic pistol. He is in short pants and a white T-shirt, and they sag against him, as he's lathered in sweat. At the moment, he hasn't noticed anyone approaching yet. Or at the very least, he isn't letting it interfere with the rather brutal forms. ]

A good and respectable knight--the best with a sword I could ever have hoped to fight with or against.

[There was a clear note of admiration in his words as he spoke with a faint smile.]

Saber is fairly talented, but I have seen better.

[ There's nothing dismissive about this, just matter of fact. Horus Lupercal and Sanguinius are immortal lords of battle, and none can surpass them except perhaps the Emperor himself. ]

[ Were Garviel still genehanced, this would not have taken him in. As it is, he turns, pistol and blade tracking the bouncing object, eyes sliding across the telltale blood drops just for a millisecond and he manages to say ]

[ Garviel rises to a crouch, fists balled, but decides that discussion is more important than a fight at this time, consciously tamping down his own conditioned kill-urges. ]

You'd be surprised what a corpse can tell you, but in this case I'll definitely agree with your statement. [ Garviel actually gives Abel a small, rather ironic smile. ]

I do not know the answer to the second question, but the third is that these monsters are called Shadows, and they are some kind of anathema to us. They are dangerous to humans... and we have been called to deny them, with both our wills and actions.

[ He stands, slowly, so as not to provoke the giant man. ]

Besides... those who brought us here may well take exception to an attempt to escape with our duty left undone.

[ Garviel flexes his hands, and looks to his weapons. ] May I retrieve them? I mean you no harm, no human is my foe.

[ Garviel retrieves his weapons, sliding the blade into a hip sheath, and the pistol into a shoulder holster. ]

I think that is a possibility we all must concede, though in my case I can confirm this is approximately 28,000 years before I was even born.

A feast?

[ What is with giant men and invitations to feasts? ]

Indeed. I thought it a good way to forge a fellowship between those of us who are aware of the things that take place during midnight.

[ He gives saber a smile, through his bandages. ]
