Since I already have one person interested, I might as well open this up to the public. I will be teaching anyone whom is interested and doesn't annoy me, how to use a gun safely and appropriately for battle. I've arranged a space for practice tomorrow at the range. Be there promptly at five if you are interested.

I will have a number of guns there for the lesson, though I suggest purchasing your own for protection.

Have you thought of learning how to wield a more honorable weapon yourself?

Yes, guns. I don't see how they are not honorable. My father used guns in the war, and my husband uses them in his position of keeping the peace.

A man should not be able to bring harm to another from the shadows and from a great distance. It is cruel and dishonorable.

Cruel? With a gun you can make a clean kill and end their misery swiftly. Would you rather go hacking at someone with a blade and cause them to suffer?

A man knows their fate when they pick up their blade to fight.

Perhaps in your time, blades were the weapon of choice. In this century they're considered outdated.

A blade can never be outdated. It may grow dull over time, but it can be resharpened without much trouble.

Swords aren't exactly used anymore. Guns have become the new face of warfare and protection, and have been for over century. Thus why I see no wrong in using one. It's what I was raised with.

What a strange world it has become..

He was cruel. He had within his hand the greatest weapon he could ask for and instead, he resorted to guns to do his dirty work.

I'm sorry to hear that. But that doesn't make the weapon itself something bad.

It is just if he lacked the means, he would have had difficulty with his dishonorable ways.

If someone wishes to do something terrible they'll find any way they can.

I know, but so many unnecessary.. [ She cuts herself off quick. ] My apologies. Preaching on this topic hardly does any good for either of us. May I say one thing though?

Yes, you may.

Teaching a child to use a gun is cruel. Often they do not have the thought to think their actions through, nor of the results that are ahead. You will not teach anyone who is mentally unfit, correct? A child does not need un-washable blood on their hands.

It's not always cruel. Tell me, when did you first learn to use a sword? A knife? Bows? Or whatever else types of weaponry that existed in your time.

I'll be making the best judgments I can, I'll assure you of that. But I will say there is something just a awful leaving these children without a means to protect themselves.

A bold question to ask someone of my standing. Are you unaware of who I am? If not, then you know the age in which I took up a blade. A time where boys were raised to be men before adolescence differs in comparison to a world where a boy has to wait a few years after adulthood to buy a drink. Responsibilities differ, but if you insist on knowing the answer.. I was the foster child of a knight, so shortly after I was able to stand did I begin to learn weaponry.

The children have been advised to stick with those who are trained. There are more than enough knights to accommodate them and their curious nature.

Exactly. I see no different in teaching a child to use a sword and teaching them to use any weapon necessary to keep them alive. My own children learned to use guns when they were young. It was something they needed to know and I will stand by it.

You are suggesting, it seems, that I won't have responsibility with my charges. I'm not going to let them run wild with guns. I will watch them. But I'm not going to leave them defenseless in the chance we adults can't be there to protect them. That would be more that cruel.

Very well, I can accept that. [ It seems she has little reason to. ] You will be responsible for them truly?

I give my word. I don't know what you consider that to be, but know I do.

I just know how it might damage a child should they take a life without meaning to.

Adults as well.. I suppose anyone human could make such an accident.
