[If anyone has noticed, Saori hasn't been going to work since the event ended or seen outside of her room.]

I'm sorry about what happened with my last post. I don't know what came over me then but I would never do such a thing. As a precaution I've been staying in my room since then. I don't think I'm ready to see anyone just yet and I just wanted to let people know where I was this whole time.

Again, I'm sorry if I caused anyone some kind of inconvenience because of this.

[Oh you did NOT just say that. Kaiji is on his feet now, turned to the door.]

I can't help it. I just..never mind. Forget I said anything. Just please go if that's all you have to say.

[He bangs on the door now.] That ain't all I got to say! I just wanna keep telling it to a door. Open up, already!

[The bang startled her but she opens the door. She shrinks back a bit. It's clear she hadn't been sleeping well. She doesn't look at him and instead sits down on the bed.]

[He stands there in the doorway for a moment before he comes in, closing the door quietly behind him. He leans against it a moment, and sighs before walking over to her.]

Saori... Look at you. Ya look like hell. Ya can't keep this attitude up! You'll fall apart!

Kaiji...I...

[Saori grabs Kaiji by the wrist and pulls him closer while she stands up to hold him. She doesn't say a word but just sobs as if she held crying the entire time of her isolation.]

[Oh no don't do that, Kaiji doesn't handle crying girls well! He wraps his arms around her and holds her close though, letting her get that out of her system. Naturally, he has tears in his own eyes he's trying to fight off now.]

H-Hey, don't-- Look, shit like this is gonna happen all the time. Whoever or whatever is behind this probably loves watching us squirm. Whatever their plans are for us, let's not give them the satisfaction of gettin' upset or pissed or frustrated. We don't know what's gonna happen next, so all we can do is stick together and fight this shit off. Even if it's just us two. No matter what kinda stuff they make ya do, it's not gonna scare me off or have me abandon you. I know the real Saori from any that the Shadows might make you into, so let 'em do their worst. I'll fight them off every time.

[It takes her a while but she eventually calms down. She wipes away the tears before looking at Kaiji.]

Thank you, Kaiji, for staying.

[Hey he's not crying or anything okay]

Ya don't have to thank me. I'd do it no matter what.

[Of course not. She gives him a peck on the cheek.]

I didn't mean to worry you like that at all.

[A thought strikes him, like a lightbulb over his head.]

Oh, hey, almost forgot. With all the crazy shit goin' on, I never got to give you this.

[He reaches into his pocket and brings out a small jewelry box.] Happy incredibly late Valentine's Day.

[She takes the box and gives him another kiss before opening.]

You really didn't have to.

Maybe not "have", more like I wanted to? [He smirks.]

[Inside is a necklace and emerald pendant.]

Ah... It's okay, right?

[The last time she received jewelry as a gift was from her brother before he disappeared. Despite that association, she's rather touched by the gift. She looks up at Kaiji before tightly hunging him.]

It's wonderful. Thank you!

So ya like it? It's okay? [He seemed relieved.]

Of course I love it, Kaiji. You really went out of your way to get this for me and I can tell. And well, since my Valentine's day gift to you got botched, I still need to make it up to you.
