[Why are maid cafes always hiring? Do they just have a high turnover rate? Do they want a lot of faces for any situation? Is there some other mysterious force at work here...?

Still, Madoka doesn't want to rely on friends and free coupons forever. She wants to help others, not always getting helped by others, and that means becoming as independent as she can.

But still she hesitates. She doesn't really like the idea of having to dress up in some frilly maid outfit and putting on some kind of act. But it wouldn't be that bad would it?

She's standing outside the entrance, lost in thought. Maybe you can give her the push she needs?]

B | Later than A, inside said restaurant

[Oh, it can be bad. It can be soooooooo bad that it's even worse. Madoka was given the job alright, rather quickly. But she's not running around as a maid waitress. No, she's shoved out of the back wearing an absolutely crisp tuxedo with tails, gloves, and tie. She'd look everything like the proper butler if she wasn't panicking and arguing with someone in the doorway.]

Are you sure I can't wear one of the other costumes back there? I'm sure there's one in my size, right? Right?

[There's some indistinct voices from the back and Madoka face falls. Resigning herself to her fate with a sigh, she straightens up, tugs on her gloves, and fixes her tie before calmly and with proper posture approaches a table she's been assigned.]

Welcome, may I take your order?

[Madoka sighs into her glove-covered hands without really looking up.]

[He turns a little red and looks away.]

[She's pretty embarrassed about this too. Especially since he looks better in that outfit than she would. She looks away when she realizes she was staring for a bit though.]

I, um, just didn't expect to see you working here is all. I was going to say thanks for offering to try and make this less embarrassing for me...

[She can't help but let out another sigh as she mutters mostly to herself now.]

Though I guess it kinda makes some weird sense that the owner would have me dress like this if they already had you dressed like that...

Crossdressing is cute, apparently. D-don't let it get to you, alright?

I'm trying, I really am. A part time job would be pretty helpful about now...

...I just hope none of my friends from back home ever find out about this.

[No matter how embarrassed she is, Madoka is still going to do her best to be professional about this.

A few minutes later she's back with the coffee mug on a shiny silver platter balanced in on one hand. She sets the cup and saucer down in front of Minato.]

Here's your coffee, sir. Hopefully everything is to your liking?

[She can get through this, yep.]

[He meant it as a joke. But can she handle it?]

[Madoka visible stiffens at the name, but keeps her cool. Keeps her charming smile. But that smile is rather fixed right now. And she speaks up through gritted teeth.]

I am so glad to hear that, sir. Do you require any cream or sugar?

[Her eye might be twitching. She seems to be restraining herself, though.]

[She should have smacked him.]

No, I'm good.

[He takes a sip of the coffee.]

[Madoka totally doesn't want to be fired first day on her job, so she's going to butle away before pushed to extremes. She'll return with the bill on another silver platter when he seems well and done unless he asks for something else.]

[Don't look at her, she just serves the things with as much class as she can.

Also, she would not put anything in there that wasn't asked. No matter how much someone might deserve it. She does happen to be nearby when he wonders that out loud though.]

[He's looking around for a place to eat (instant noodles only do so much) when he notices her. She hasn't moved and others are walking by so he can't help but be curious. Raising a brow, he stands beside her, takes a look inside and furrows his brows.]

Hey, you okay? You've been standing out here for awhile...

[Madoka jumps slightly at the voice, not noticing anybody approaching.]

GAH!

...Oh, um, sorry, didn't expect anyone to suddenly be there.

Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine. Just...weighing my options I guess you could say...

[He leans back, watching her with slightly wide eyes. A nod as he glances back to the inside, then back to the stranger.]

What's there to decide? You're either hungry or you're not, right?

...That's not exactly what I'm considering here.

[She gestures at the 'Help Wanted' sign.]

I was thinking about applying for a job here.

[Looking over, he nods slowly.]

Oh, work? Wouldn't that be a good thing? [Looking inside, he sees the... attire and well-- then it clicks.]

... Oh.

Yeah. On the one hand, I could really use the money so I don't have to rely on free coupons. But I'm not too sure about all those frills and lace or what kind of act it's suppose to entail...

...Yeah, I guess I could see about that too, but just looking around today, this was really only thing I could find. And I'm worried if I don't hurry, I'll miss out on getting ANY job.

You don't have to say yes if they do offer you a job, you know - getting accepted's good enough, sometimes.

That or - you could take up odd jobs. There's always some openings online...
