Of course. When people were just coming to America, the country we're in, a lot of them came from the country of Ireland. Today is a holiday named after Ireland's patron saint - someone who did great works there.

This was a holiday celebrated in Ireland starting over a thousand years ago, if I remember right. It's spread throughout many countries since then.
