Third Gambit (Accidental video)

*David didn't turn the phone on this time. Instead, it fell out of his pocket and hit the floor, turning on to record him standing up after rolling to avoid something. He's on the roof of the hotel, frowning at something.*

Well...as much as I appreciate the sneak peek at my Persona, these aren't exactly the circumstances I had in mind.

*His persona moves into view, plunging his spear at David. But this is one rich man who knows how to fight for himself, and he dodges out of the way, sending the giant back a step with a heavy kick that some might recognize as a karate form.*

And here's me without my sling...ah well, I suppose I'll just have to make do.

*Goliath responds by swinging his heavy shield toward David's head, and the feed cuts off just before anyone gets to see if it connects or not.*

(Responses will be delayed ICly because he has a giant to topple. If anyone wants to rush up to the roof to help, feel free to reply with action, although his Persona is only level 1 and thus not much of a threat.)

I see. I suppose I should inform you that the David of the legend in question is around here, as well.

I can't honestly say I'm surprised, given the legends...especially since they seem to have a way of going to people's heads.

Can anyone entirely agree? I've never been particularly religious myself, but it is a highly subjective topic.

[Saori was a little busy to listen to the sudden rush of posts going off during the Dark Hour. She managed to get away from another wave of Shadows. By chance, she sees David on the rooftop with his Persona attacking.

She rushes over and grabs him by the arm to pull him aside from the incoming attack.]

A little too close for comfort there.

*Well, he's not going to object to that. The shield bash flies pat both of them as David quickly regains his balance.*

I have to agree. It looks like I might have to take this one seriously.

*Goliath turns waves his spear, sending a wind spell-albeit a weak one-at Saori.*

[Fortunately it doesn't do much against her except push her back a few feet and a few not serious cuts. She's just grateful it didn't have any water magic.]

I'd bring out Brigid but seeing how yours started attacking, that's not an option. You only just summoned him, right?

I didn't summon him. This is actually the first time he's appeared.

*As he speaks, he starts circling around the giant, working to put himself across it from Saori. Seeing him move, Goliath lunges with his spear again and David darts back, but now he's standing at the edge of the roof.*

Hmm...

Careful, then. Having your Persona out the first time will leave you exhausted.

[Goliath maybe a newly summoned Persona, but Saori knows better than to underestimate her enemies. Realizing David's current position, she focuses on getting Goliath's attention with a kick to it's back.]

Weren't you ever told not to turn your back on your opponent?

I'll keep it in mind.

*The kick connects, but it still only barely moves Goliath. But it does do what she wanted it to. The giant turns to swing his shield at her, giving David the chance to finish circling around and get well away from the edge of the roof.*

He obviously doesn't represent my multitasking ability.

[Saori moves back to dodge the attack but the shield manages to hit her face. She staggers back and her lip is bleeding. That's going to leave a mark but honestly, she's dealt with worse attacks than that.]

Analysis later, we'll have plenty of time for that after we deal with him. Any ideas?

I always have ideas. Let's see if we can get him where I was standing a moment ago, shall we?

*He moves while Goliath's shield is out of the way, aiming a punch that he knows shouldn't be too hard to dodge...provided the giant dodges toward the edge of the roof. His Persona tosses out another wind spell, but David's already seen how dangerous it is. He plows through it, steeling himself against the shallow cuts that open up over his body, and Goliath moves just as David had expected. The Persona isn't in danger of falling off yet, but it's that much closer.*

Perfect. All he needs is a little push.

[As Goliath moves into position, Saori takes a few steps back before charging at the Persona. With a jump kick, it's enough to force him over the ledge. She barely manages to jump away and fall on her behind from the giant as it claws the air for something to grab onto.]

Whew. That was close.

[just_as_planned]

*And the Persona falls, leaving the two of them alone on the roof. David brushes himself off, frowning a bit at how many of the cuts are bleeding before shrugging and offering Saori a hand up.*

I appreciate the help. Are you alright?

[She takes the offered hand and dusts herself off.]

Anytime. Trust me, giants are nothing compared to some of the stuff I encountered when I went back home.

Well, an interesting after life and supernatural realm attached to my world anyway. This is going to sound odd, but technically in my world, I've been dead for twenty years now.

Well, you're awfully spry for a dead woman. Then again, I can't really claim much knowledge about afterlives beyond mythical representations.

The physical body is only temporary but the soul is eternal. Let's just say after life back home for me is complicated at the very least. First, we should tend to your wounds. My Persona is skilled in healing but let's not have a repeat of just now.

[She peers down at the streets to see where they are.]

The cafe I bought is nearby and I know I have a first aid kit in there.

[ Greed catches the feed and frowns. Well shit. ] Hey, don't go dying on me. We have things to do.

*It takes a while before he replies, but he's in good shape when he does. He's covered in lightly bleeding cuts, but none of them look serious.*

I thought I'd made it obvious that I don't plan on dying any time soon, Greed.

[ Greed whistles low. ] Damn. That's pretty good.

*Shrug.*

What can I say? New York is a tough city.

[ Greed rubs his chin. ] That dangerous, huh? Sounds fun.

*But he seems more amused than bothered. He'd be bored if he didn't have at least some challenge.*
