*The phone comes on resting on the stone wall of a castle tower. David's standing with his hands in the pockets of a light trenchcoat that's fluttering slightly in the wind, seemingly enjoying the view when he hears something that sounds like wings followed by a heavy landing. David turns, casually, as a tall, winged creature walks into view.*
Xanatos-
*David cuts him off casually, slipping one hand behind his back and out of sight.*
My turn, is it? I'd been wondering when you would show up and who you would be. I hope it doesn't bother you that I'm somewhat disappointed, I'd been expecting Fox.
Your games won't work this time-
Games? Isn't that my line this time? I have to admit, it's a good likeness, but your eyes are a dead giveaway.
*The eyes in question start glowing, golden irises fading into pure white.*
You're not in any position to be-
Aren't I? I already know what you're here for. You're going to bring up some personal topics that you expect to unnerve me, most likely accusations about my ability as a father or my continued mortality, or possibly claim that you'll never honestly forgive me for hurting you and your clan, in the hopes that I'll drop my guard, and then you'll try to kill me and I'll be very thankful that my phone is within easy reach so I can call for help or maybe accidentally turn it on in my struggles, assuming it doesn't malfunction and turn on by itself. Am I wrong?
*The Shadow growls, lashing its tail out behind it angrily.*
Except you ought to know that won't work for me. The fact of the matter is, I know you're a fake. You'll do whatever it takes to get under my skin, even if it involves using blatant lies to dig at my insecurities. And who knows, maybe that would have worked if I was the person I'd been when we met. But I'm a different man now.
So, what do you say? Should we skip to the fighting now? Goliath vs Goliath, it sounds exciting, doesn't it?
*He whips his hand out from behind his back and fires a single shot from the handgun he'd been hiding there. It hits its target before the Shadow can react, and the creature fades into nothing.*
But I think I prefer this approach. Sorry if I'm breaking the rules.
