[Waking up in a strange place was one thing. It was a place that was filled with the oddest of scents, so much so that the air itself felt different. The people around him were dressed in gaudy, revealing outfits, or clothes that constricted the body fiercely. He was lucky that so far, he had not come across any cars. Instead, his curious poking at the phone in his hands had caused the video to turn on. He was crouching on the ground, knees tucked up to his chest as he tosses the phone from hand to hand, seeing what the buttons do. So far, a few things have appeared on the screen.

The feed twirls a little, showing first him, then people around him - a woman in green; a small boy. There are the faint sounds of voices-

Mom, what's he doing?
I think he's from some fair or other. Probably a street performer.
Maybe he's escaped from an asylum!

For his part, Aengus paid it no heed, and when the dizzying twirl stopped, he had it set on his knees. Ah. This looks like it is doing something at least. Hm... The people had scattered, leaving him alone in what appeared to be a park. Curiosity only goes so far, after all. A look of concern was set upon his brow, though he tried to mask it with his usual winning smile.]

This is a place of which mine eyes have never before gazed upon.

'tis an unusual thing enough to sleep in the Brú and awaken yet somewhere new. What dost thou require of me? It must be a matter of some importance for you to have brought me here, unknown to any, and even so to myself.

At the least, it would be expected to leave a letter before me.

Ah, I see. It's nice to meet you, um, sir. [Social awkward is go. How does I act around fathers of friends.]

I am no lord, o lady of the red hair. I am Aengus.

[She blinks a few times at the name and laughs sheepishly.]

Then, ah, it's nice to meet you, Aengus. I'm April.

You seem ill at ease, o April. Fear not! I shall not harm thee.

Huh? Ah, no, no, I'm sorry, I just get... nervous when I talk to new people.

[A brilliant smile. Can you see all of these bishounen sparkles, April? A butterfly settles on his shoulder and he brings a hand up to it. His finger strokes feather-light over its wing.]

Am I so frightening?

[Yep, she can see the sparkles all right. She blinks a few times and quickly shakes her head.]

No, not at all! I'm just... socially awkward and I get nervous around people I don't know.

..."socially"-?

[Alright, first step in the future - ask Diarmuid about all of these new words.]

Then, it would seem our only option is yet to get to know one another, is it not? If you would be amenable to that, that is.

Ah, um, I'm just not good around people, basically.

[And her expression turns to one of surprise.]

Ah, sure, of course! ... I-I mean, if that's okay with you.

There is no reason for it not to be, is there?

[She rubs the back of her neck.] Well, no, I guess not... Well, in that case, I would be happy to get to know you better, Aengus.

Tell me then, if it be not too personal. How do you know my son?

I met him when I first arrived here and he helped me out, and after a while we became friends.

There were no... troubles that affected you in that time?

Troubles?

[She thinks about this, and then shakes her head.]

Not that I can think of. Why?

I don't think it would have any effect here. Any sort of power or abilities or anything we had before are taken from us, so that's probably why.

... What is his curse?

All the women who look upon him do feel the stirrings of love within their breast, and thus obsess over him despite his unwillingness to deal with those who have been cursed into false feelings. This is the curse of the love spot, that mark that he bears upon his handsome face.

...what do you mean - they are taken?

Well, I can certainly say I've never felt anything like that for him. I only think of him as a friend.

Whatever brings us here takes our abilities and powers from us, if we had them. It turns us human, basically. If you had certain powers before, you won't have them now.

Now that is news that is most alarming to me. Not once yet in my history have I known the loss of such things, and not once yet have I been separated from any ties to them.

To be human... alas, 'tis a frightening idea.

I know the feeling... It's strange at first, but it's not too bad after a while. And you get a sort of new power too, a Persona.

Tell me, what sort of power is this 'persona'?

It's a... [She frowns in thought, explaining this isn't easy.] It's a being you can summon that aids you in fighting the monsters that appear at midnight.

I must ask. You mention these monsters that appear at night. Tell me. Do they perhaps have some similarity to wolves?

So a 'Persona' is some type of supernatural guardian... I see.
