16TH DAY - [Video]

[If he got the date right, that means he’s been in Prospero for almost a year. A year, once June 20th comes to pass. Or was it June 21st? He arrived during the Dark Hour, so the exact date can be a little strange.

No matter. He’s still in this place and watched people come and go. Atsuro even went home that time, and returned to this city. Back to where people would appreciate his help and his work on the Shadow Database. He knows the fickle nature of this place can easily send him home, so Atsuro want to leave something behind. His work, his notes, anything; for his fellow kidnapped friends to benefit from while they’re here.

He saw Diarmuid’s post about Neah’s departure. That’s what brought up his thoughts lately. It never stops hurting when people he knows left (‘Madoka, Naoya...’), but he try not to let it drag him down. Which really means he’s keeping it to himself and let it stew deeply; without his best friend here, his only outlets are his work and the occasional talk with people.

Atsuro's face appears on the network, looking cheerful as ever. But if anyone pay attention, they can see him looking a little tired. A result of some late-nighters.]

[He pauses, looking thoughtful before he yawns.]

You know, I checked the calendar and that got me thinking. In two weeks, it’ll be one year since I first arrived in Prospero. Well, since I first arrived and remember. There’s a chance that I might come here waaaay before and forgot, but right now? I’ll be hitting my first anniversary in two weeks, and same for everyone else who came here at around the same time as me.

...Knowing this place, there might be something fun at around our anniversary, or at least the full moon type of fun.

[He’s going to leave out the fact that his birthday is next week. Whoops.]

...Really, it's been a year?

[Guess who looks exhausted and is trying to play it off like it's nothing. He sighed and shook his head, adjusting his glasses.]

Thank you for the updates. They really are helpful.

Yeah, it's been that long.

[The calendar, along with digging through all the old posts, made him realise how long they've been here. If he's stuck here long enough, he might graduate from high school.

That's such a weird thought.]

And no problem. It's the least I can do between everything. [Training, daily obligations and work.]

If there's anything I can do to help, you need only ask.

[He paused, thinking things over for a moment or two. It hadn't struck him just how long it had been; 'since last summer' sounded like it was only a short time if one didn't consider it was yet another summer right now.]

...it's strange, isn't it? On my part, that's a whole year that I shouldn't have even been alive to see.

I will. [Maybe to gather more information, or teach Diarmuid how to work with the code. Atsuro will think of something.]

Oh...right. You're one of the people who's supposed to be dead. [Wow, blunt much.] It's strange to think of that. For me, part of the year was thinking I have a normal life to get back to. The rest was knowing I have important things to get back to.

One of several, yes. I died the same night I came to Prospero. Again.

I guess nothing's ever as simple as it looks. Had I arrived any earlier, I would have had a number of vital things to return to. At any rate...for what it's worth, I'm sure you'll get back to it just fine.

[He's mostly aware of the Servants thing, from following and browsing the network often.]

Yeah, I know. At least here, I can take my time and get ready. [A war against Yahweh. Oh boy.] ...Mister Diarmuid, right?

Right--just call me Diarmuid. I don't see any reason for people to be particularly formal with me.

I know. I've been taking care of myself for a while, so it's nothing new to me. [Living alone for years tend to do that. Other than a few hiccups, he's usually good at looking after his health.] Your father's here as well?

If you need someone to keep up with the database, I wouldn't mind volunteering. Providing of course that I can stick around long enough to do the job, of course.

I'll be glad to have you on board! Just anyone helping out is fine, since...like I said, this city might send me home without warning.

I'll do my best! If anyone else volunteers too, just let me know. It will go much smoother if we keep in communication about which ones we have and haven't learned anything about.

I arrived a few months after you and some of the others, but it's hard to believe it's almost a year since people were being brought in.

I'll try, but I've been feeling a bit [Hurt? Lost?] restless for a while.

Time really flies fast here! It doesn't feel like a year until I check the dates.

I know, but your body and mind needs rest. You can always rest at my tea house whenever you like.

[She laughs softly at the comment of time. A year is nothing compared to the twenty years she experienced in her 'short' time home.]

How very true. We've all been busy with fighting shadows and maintaining a daily life here.

Uh huh. I'd like to avoid school so I can dedicate my time to other things, but the school will just come after me for attendance.

Lovely. That leaves us with less than two weeks, possibly less considering how wild this place has been lately.

I'd ask, but then I remember the zombie thing last year. That one last two weeks.
