This is entirely for scientific research into completely innocent methods of saving the world by filling it with happiness and joy. Something like that.

I doubt it greatly. Indeed, more that I have met show sorrow or anger. 'tis not without its cause.

Yeah, all these people sitting around like lumps on a log, slugging around everywhere 'cause their lives suck, or maybe their lives don't suck but they're still not happy. Just make 'em more lively. Make 'em live!

...are they not already alive? If they are dead, then it is little surprise to see that they do little.

It's an expression, Sparkles. People are alive, but they're not living, really.

...then are they the undead? Those who rise up from the graves to wander the world in bitterness at their suffering?

Okay, note to self, you're a very literal guy. What I mean is, I want to make people see that the world is a lot of fun.

Not truly. I am a poet, after all, and what good is poetry or song in honest literalness? But 'tis only that the phrase confused me. If one is living, then one has life.
