[ It had been a good day just about in the mind of one Saber. To have Issei return to this place surely would bolster the spirits of those who missed him (specifically Lancer in her mind, but there were others) and help those who remain to come together. If there was someone who was a natural leader with no experience beyond the walls of a high school building, it was that boy. The conversation had been short enough; there was a previous engagement to tend to and therefore, Saber had to oblige.

Her ire was earned easily enough when she found herself spending over a hour in wait. Pride kept her from calling for him, to demand he hurries, so instead she just sat outside the door for as long as she could. It wasn't until she heard the scratching of claws against the door behind her back. Well, he certainly wasn't home. How infuriating.

Breaking in was easy when the door was left unlocked. For a man who felt strongly of his possessions, he sure was inviting those in who may have criminal intent in mind. Regardless of his foolishness, she'll move inside to tend to the large felines inside.

Hours were to pass and after a short message to Lancer that her meeting was taking longer than expected, she found herself worried. Concern for such a petulant child was a waste, she thought, but it was certainly unlike him to leave her like this. For a man who was so interested in her... What was it he had said so many years ago?

“Even if you don’t understand, don’t you feel happy to hear such words? It is not anyone else, but I, who have admitted your worth.”

That's right. There was no treasure he valued more than her, so there's no need to keep her waiting. Their time together was valuable, more than anything in this world, so why was he not here? Maybe he was with that other woman? A relationship Saber can only hope will blossom in love, a love that can change him, but a love nonetheless.

“Abandon these pointless ideals and vows. These things will only restrict you and bring you misfortune. In future you need only desire me and live under my protection. In that case I vow, on my honor as King of everything, that I will grant you all the happiness in the world.”

Now that she thought on it, he had done just that during her stay here in Prospero. While others wished to protect her, he was the one who provided for her. He bought the bookstore and paid her handsomely to work there. He brought her a blade worthy of her name and made sure it was the only one available in this realm. That meant he studied his own treasury from memory to find something that would fit her, then have something made to mimic it. The blade itself was beautiful and was perfect for her; from the light weight metal to the hilt that fit perfectly in her small hands. He traveled across the world, broke who knew how many laws (well Miles probably would know, but she's not going to exactly ask him such a pointless question), just to bring her back a companion who was just as majestic as she.

So when his name didn't come up in the list, she knew. Deep down, she had known such a day was coming, but denying it always had been easier than acknowledging such thoughts. With an emptiness in her heart, she choked back a sob. ]

You were right all along, King of Heroes. [ This hero herself could admit that now that pride no longer stood in the way. ] You had been right.

[ The rest of the night had been spent in the bed she favored in this place, her frame curled up along the two beasts she now had to care for on her own, in clothing fit of a king. When the morning came, she would deal with it. For now, this fresh steel needed to cool to become hard once more. ]

For those who were allies and enemies of Gilgamesh, you should be made aware that he has taken his leave of this place. Not through methods of his own, but due to the powers that be. I took it upon myself to inform his closest lady, Beatrice, but it seems that she too has also left. How fortunate it is that they were to leave together.

[ It's using to deliver such news through text means as to remain unbiased. While that should have been the end of her message, she began to type into her phone an additional message. ]

It is said that one must first learn suffering so that they will be able to experience joy. Please do not find yourself troubled by this loss, but instead use the grief it causes you to push yourself forward towards something that shall bring your happiness. Find a pleasure or two in this world and indulge in it.

[ That would do for now, she's certain as she closes the phone. To twist his words in such a manner, he would surely be upset with her. Even though she remembers them plain as day, even though she knows deep down that isn't what he meant, it was ironic to think of them now.

“You can’t say it because you are too shy? It’s all right; I’ll forgive you no matter how many times you get it wrong. First you must learn suffering, and then you will be able to experience the joy I give you.”

Maybe now she would be able to find joy in her second stay in Prospero. Surrounded by his gifts, there surely had to be something here that could bring her joy. ]

They are much too large to take out of here easily and besides, there is no room for them in your room.

[There was a pause on his end as well, before Diarmuid finally brought up something he'd only thought up until then.]

You're right, it's getting a little crowded in here.

I've been thinking of getting a house. Or at least a proper apartment.

If the yard is large enough, it would be enough for the lions.
They have really grown to a size where they cannot be kept indoors for much longer.

[ Just to prove her point, she'll send him a picture of the two Very Large cubs resting their heads on her lap. Aren't they cuties? ~~Better comment on how cute they are or else face her wrath.~~ ]
