*Allen's much recovered from his last post, although he once again looks like he fell asleep at his desk. But of more interest is the card he's holding and inspecting curiously.*

Well, I guess this cuts out the possibility that that room was some kind of illusion. It actually seems almost like an Encephalon dive, from my world, but that's beside the point. I think if we want to really get to the bottom of things here, this Elizabeth and her master are our best bet, even if I don't think we should trust them completely. I know a lot of people are probably still annoyed about that last event, but getting confrontational about it now is just going to hurt us in the long run if it turns out that they really were just trying to teach us something.

But aside from that, does anyone have any idea what these cards are about? It feels so...personal, but I doubt I'm the only one that got one. Do you think it has something to do with us entering the Velvet Room on our own, or something else? Personally, from the wording of the letter, I'm not entirely ready to rule out the possibility that it could be both.

(I'll be busy most of tomorrow and Sunday and all of Friday and Saturday, but I wanted to go ahead and get this up now since this is something he wouldn't have waited to address.)

What I want to know is why there was no Shadow to fight. But then, it wasn't even the full moon this time, so I don't even know anymore.

There isn't always a Shadow. Although I'm beginning to wonder if this wasn't like the normal events. Like you said, the timing was off, and we usually don't get a warning like that.

Maybe the geezer and the booth babe messed it up by showing up in their giant elevator with the padded walls.

And anyway, here's the problem with your cute little investigation: how do you interrogate a dream?

And Encephalon dive is a trip into someone's subconscious domain and it can affect your real body if you aren't careful. That's part of why I don't think that was just a dream, we wouldn't have these cards now if it was. There's also the fact that they said we'd be able to visit of our own free will.

I think that's a real place, or at least something that's close enough to real that it doesn't make much difference.

An Encephalon dive? Huh, that does make a lot of sense...But then the question would be, in to whose encephalon did we dive, or even where?

I'm not sure if it was exactly like one, it could easily have been more like an EVS. But either way, I'm sure it wasn't a regular dream.

Obviously, considering you can't normally bring physical things back from a dream.

I guess it's possible that they planted the cards on us while we were asleep, but that's a lot of effort to go to just to convince us that we'll really be able to visit that room.

And this place has already proven that it can do some strange things if it wants.

All these Velvet Room interceptions in my dreams is reminding me of my friend's abilities.

Regarding the cards though, I received the Empress. The way these cards are designed, they're not a regular deck of playing cards. Wait, I have seen them before...

All things are done with a purpose in mind.
Even if we are to feel wrath towards them for exposing our deepest memories, it will do us no good to inquire about it.
I have little reason to enter this Velvet Room, so I will likely neglect it in favor of fighting the Shadows.
