I got a letter from Prospero High School saying that I had to attend 9th grade.

[Pause. A hint of sorrow in her voice.]

What should I do? I don't think I'm ready to go to school. I'm not fit to be around people until I can stop feeling like I need to hurt them because they...

[Trailing off. She never talked about this to anyone. Especially not here, because the illness she had at Rougetsu wasn't exactly here. Plus, she was starting to feel a bit more remorseful about her actions back home, once she learned what they meant in the end.]

I don't think I can get out of this, though. I'm not sure if the school can understand my actions on Rougetsu Island without looking at my funny. They're not like my doctors back home.

Can I just ignore the letter?

I think we left around the same time.

[She nods, somewhat understanding. Catching up, huh?] Okay, I guess. I'm kind of glad to be here. How about you?

Hmm.... It's a little hard to say.

I miss my friends from back home, but..... I've made a lot of friends here too. And this place isn't really so bad. It's a lot safer.

Is your world dangerous too? [Out of curiosity. She might not understand it, but again. Human curiosity.]

The world I came from wasn't all that dangerous....

But it sort of got destroyed, and my friends and I escaped to a place that turned out to be pretty hazardous.

[THAT... SHE CAN UNDERSTAND.] Same thing happened to my island. I understand.

Man... Sorry to hear that. I know how tough it can be. Did you.... end up okay? After it was all over, I mean?

[She shakes her head.]

No. I came here after I died. I don't think anything or anyone survived. [Shrugging though!] What can you do. Stuff happens.
