Apple Core 2: Being a farm pony means not being much of a night owl... [Video]

[If you were trying to get some sleep tonight, or maybe a nap before the Dark Hour, and forgot to set your phone somewhere else, well, you're in for a rude awakening around 11 pm as the feed switches on to show a blond hair woman with a dubious look on her face.]

Alright, Ah think Ah got this video thing working right, so Ah'm just going to go ahead and start explainin'.

[The look of focus suddenly melts as she starts to yawn, but the woman seems to catch herself and tries to snap her mouth shut and end the yawn quickly.]

Sorry. Anyway, this is Applejack, and in case Ah haven't explained before to whoever is watching, Ah'm supposed to be a pony. Now a couple of folks have been nice enough to explain the more...stranger routines of this town, and how during the Dark Hour Ah'm probably mah normal self, but...

[She pauses again, looking a bit embarrassed, and seems to start to yawn again, but stifles it immediately.]

But, well, Ah'm not use to staying up so late. Ah've tried several times already but Ah all mah effort got me was some hoof prints in mah bed and a sore back. So Ah'm going to try using this cell phone thingy this place gave us to maybe keep me focused and awake for the Dark Hour. Even if Ah'm just talking to mahself, it might work this time.

Plus if'n Ah can keep this thing recording, it should at least show that Ah do turn back into a pony during it, which means that at least some point during the day Ah'm mah usually self...

So Ah guess Ah've said mah piece. Let's see if Ah can stay up this time now...

Maybe, Ah remember trying to find mah own way when Ah was a filly too, but it was more of along of trying things Ah liked or wanted to do, not trying every fool thing that might make mah cutie mark magically appeared...

[She mulls this over, trailing off, but ends up yawning again.]

Sorry, still getting use to staying up. Not much longer, right?

[Applejack gives an enthusiastic nod.]

Sure am. It'd be nice to be back in mah own skin. And fur. And mane.

I hear you. Like, if I were a pony all day, that'd be a trip. I already feel totally different, even though I look the same.

So you didn't get changed when you came here, huh?

You know where Ah come from we don't have any creatures that look like hue-mins? It was the...

[Another yawn there, but she powers through it and continues the sentence.]

The strangest thing to...to wake up too...

[That last sentence wasn't like that because of yawning, it's because she trailed off as she fell asleep. Just before the clock strikes midnight.]

[Applejack snaps awake at the sound, worried she missed the Dark Hour again.]

Ah'm awake! Sorry! Ah'm up though! What time is it?

It's twelve, man. It'll be twelve for the next hour.

[downtoearthpony]

It's the Dark Hour? Did it work then? Am Ah back to mahself?

[She takes a look at her hooves. Yep hooves, she's a pony again.]

Ah am! Yee-haw, this is great!! Ah was starting to think Ah'd never be a pony again!

[She's hugging herself in happiness, glad to be an orange talking pony once more.]

Congratulations, pony-sis. You're happy?

Happier than a pig in a mud puddle!

Ah have mah tail back! Look!

[She's pretty much wagging it like a happy dog here.]

Now, just need to try and stay up the entire Dark Hour...

This hour's a bummer for most people, but being yourself again's gotta be pretty boss. I don't go out and fight, usually, even though lots of us do.

Well, Ah'm still not too sure why Ah'm here exactly, but if there's things out there that are dangerous to others, and Ah can do something to stop them, then Ah'm not going to stay sitting in mah room for long.

Besides, Ah've always been more of a hooves-on kind of gal, so this would probably be the best way to help me figure out what's going on...
