... I have no idea what year I was born in, and I was working almost constantly back home. The days just blurred together most of the time.

I told her we could throw her a party in the hotel lobby because it seemed like something you would do, but she said no.

It's just how things were, for me. Sure, I celebrated my birthday when I was younger, but when I left home it just didn't matter anymore.

It's still sad. Although I guess I can sympathize. It wasn't too big a deal back home either. Not since mother died and father disappeared. Nagahisa and I didn't really feel like celebrating much on our own.

It's ok. It just means we have something in common in that sad things happened. But here, those sad things aren't happening. So we should make the most of it.
