[It was strange that she felt like talking all of a sudden; especially when it's about herself. April never liked talking about herself, she was... alright, she wasn't okay with keeping stuff bottled in, but she did it anyway.

But now she felt like she really wanted to. So, she turned on the video feed, her expression oddly serious for once.]

... Y'know, even though this place can be pretty boring and quiet, I really like it here to be honest; it's way better than home... Ah, my home is basically one big wasteland with nothing but ruins, not exactly a nice place and it's pretty dangerous, since anything that moves will probably try to kill you. [She frowns a bit as she says that. This felt weird and a part of her wanted to stop before she said too much, but she just couldn't.]

Aha, it's probably stupid of me to want to stay here, huh? And I really shouldn't want to. Back home, I've... got this goal I need to achieve, and a lot of people are counting on me to achieve it and I need to go back... I don't want to go back, but I need to... Ugh, I'm being pretty selfish, but I just... [A sigh.

And she frowns some more as she reaches to rub her forehead, before there's the sound of something falling behind her, prompting a small squeak and her quickly turning around. It seems like one of her many towers of books have fallen over but that's what happens when you have waaaaay too many of them.]

... Whoops.

[April turns and blinks at the screen for a moment.]

I... guess. [She rubs the back of her neck, her expression uncertain.]

... I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have said any of that, but I just... felt like I wanted talk to somebody.

Speak at your leisure, and I'll listen. [Although he doesn't know completely why he cares so much.]

[Yeah, that confuses April a bit before she nods with a small smile.]

Thanks, Ledah... I'm just... [She frowns again, clearly not used to actually talking about this sort of thing.]

I guess I'm just... tired. I've been fighting and planning and killing for years, and I don't think it will end for a long time. But I have to keep going, since achieving my goal is something I want to do and it's what motivates me, basically. [She kinda slumps in her seat a bit, her frown deepening a bit more.]

A goal like that isn't completely foreign to me. I believe that it's worth the effort.

...Selfish, yeah. But it makes sense.

[He's almost in a similar boat. :|;;]

[She turns back to the screen, and sighs a bit.]

... Hmm, I guess it does. Though I feel pretty guilty about feeling this way, but I know that I'm gonna push myself to go home either way.

Tch. Only feel guilty if you're not trying to do the right thing.

[Guilt is for Catholics, in his opinion.]

[Devola has something of a knowing look in her eyes when she responds.]

It's nice not having to watch your back all the time, isn't it? One hour a day of it almost seems like a blessing in disguise.

[A bit more mutedly.] I get what you mean, though. I've got things to do back home, but I almost wish I could stay here.

[There's a small look of surprise on April's face when she looks back at the screen, before she nods with a wry smile.]

Yeah, it's nice not having to be on guard all day.

... Aha, I 'll admit, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Mm, a buncha people seem to be of a mind that treating this like a vacation is a good idea.

[She pauses, her usual grin slowly reappearing as she speaks, sentence ending almost in a sing-song manner] ...Really, considering the "don't want it to end" aspect, that makes so much sense it's almost physically painful~♪

[A blink, before April grins back.] ... Well, I've never been on vacation before, so I guess I may as well make the most of this.

How's it go... "focus on the here and now", I think?

Enjoy the reprieve, fight shadows, do whatever. Worry about home when you get back.

I want to go back home too, but I like this place too! Maybe you can think of it like a long vacation!

[Blink, blink. Before grinning a bit.]

Hehe, that's a good idea. And I haven't been on a vacation before, so I'll have to make the most of it.

[Endou nodded enthusiastically.]

When you're on vacation, you have to have fun! I'm sure everything will be alright!

[His cheerfulness is infectious, since April nods back just as enthusiastically.]

Yeah, you're right! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have fun here, since I've been enjoying myself so far.

I don't want to go back home either. I can't without a lot of bad consequences. But it is selfish of me. So I know the feeling.

It maybe selfish, but I don't blame you for wanting to stay here after hearing what your home is like.

I think everyone here wouldn't mind staying here to a degree, including me. Then again, I don't really have anything or anyone waiting for me back home since...I'm pretty sure I'm dead back home.

H-huh, you're sure you're... dead back home? [Momentarily ignoring anything else said because wait what.]

Yeah, I'm just still not too sure about my cause of death though. I mean I find supernatural creatures to be quite possible since I've been reading and translating folklore a good portion of my life but I never thought they could quite exist until I got spirited away myself.

I don't know...even if I am able to go back home, would I still be considered dead or will they put me in a time before I kicked the bucket?

Do you really think it's all that selfish, though?

[April blinks at him and frowns to herself for a moment.]

... Maybe... I've made promises, so I can't want to stay here, not when I've got obligations back home.

Hmmm. Well, if you're still thinking about them, then doesn't it mean that it is not really selfishness?

Maybe not... So long as I keep trying to find a way back home, then it should be okay for me to enjoy staying here in the meantime, right?

[Then she frowns some more and shakes her head, her expression turning apologetic.]

Ah, sorry, I probably shouldn't be rambling about this.
