[The screen shows Homura smilng softly for a few moments]

... It's nice here. Even with the danger at midnight.

People can defend themselves without having to contract.

... I like it. And... I'm glad the people from home are here, it's safer.
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

....For what.

[Okay, not as expected.]

That's....not quite what I thought I'd hear.
croibhristeoir: (steady but i'm starting to shake)

I mean to say that I'm familiar with contracts, but I don't believe souls are usually involved.
croibhristeoir: (before i let you get away)

My understanding is that a magus summons and makes a contract with a familiar, and the only thing lost is a measure of prana on the magus's side.

A magus is essentially and at their most basic someone that uses magic--for example, a summoning spell. Prana, to phrase it simply, is the energy that one uses to perform magecraft.

It's a very complex thing, and I have only a slight understanding of it. My Master was an excellent magus, he likely could have explained it a bit better.

[But he wouldn't, because he was a dick.]

What's your magic like? Surely not everything comes at such a high price as your contracts.
croibhristeoir: (but it was not your fault but mine)

Do you mind elaborating further? This is...unusual, at least to me. How does one's wish influence their magecraft, and who is it you're contracted to?

I see. That makes logical sense, at least. Though as I understand it, magecraft and the forms in which it can be used are linked to bloodline more than anything else.
