I think a better question is why you got knocked out by Shadows last night and I had to bring you somewhere else before anything bad happened. You should be more careful~ What if somebody who didn't like you found you like that?

[He knew, just knew what she was driving at. And for reasons he couldn't begin to articulate, that actually frightened him on some level. But he didn't finish that sentence, mainly because it was admitting something he had never given more than a passing thought to.]

[He was such a coward, wasn't he? Lancer had grown far too used to having Saber nearby so often; yes, he still wished to fight her in an even match, but he realized now more than ever that he'd grown strangely attached to her outside of a battlefield.]

[Where her voice held the ends of a plea, his own held worry and a slight tone of desperation. Saber's presence had become something of a constant reassurance in a way, and losing her now would be not unlike losing part of himself. How was he supposed to atone for all that he'd done wrong in life and as a Servant if he was alone now?]
